Gunbroker.com has them listed from $500.00 to over $700.00 I would say it depends on the area you live, Here in NW Montana shotguns are not as popular and a nice 1100 with extra choke tubes and hard case will bring about $350. In Nebraska about double that.

Condition and caliber? That's a first year gun so should be 38-55. Is it full or half magazine? Take-down or solid frame? What but-stock rear end plate? t(sheesh, fixya!) Checkered or plain stock? Barrel length?

Winchester 1400 ser#L2538861

Hi,

I'm sorry, but there are no published serial number year of manufacture information for the Model 1400. It was first introduced in 1964 and was offered in 12, 16 or 20 gauge with 26", 28" or 30" vent rib barrels. This Model was discontinued in 1981.

The new Model 1400 was introduced in 1989, was chambered for 12 or 20 gauge with either a 22" or 28" vent rib barrel.

The Model 1400 Ranger is a utility grade gun in 12 or 20 gauge, a 28" vent rib barrel, 24" slug barrel with rifle sights or a two barrel set. It was introduced in 1983.

The Model 1400 Quail Unlimited was introduced in 1993. It has a compact engraved receiver with a 26" vent rib barrel and checkered walnut stock.

The Model 1400 Ranger Deer Combo is a 12 gauge only with a 22" smooth barrel and a 28"vent rib with 3 win chokes.

Values for all are : excellent-$350, very good-$300, good-$250, fair-$200, poor-$125

Add 35% for the Plastic stock on the first model and 20% for 2 barrel sets.

Sorry I couldn't give you the year. The only way to get it is a factory letter from Winchester which will cost about $100.
I hope this information has helped you. If so then would you leave some good feedback for me.

Thanks,

Marty

What year of mfg.108125 ?

Do you know what model it is?

Beings it's a .22, I'm thinking it's a Model 4, but usually those were a 22 1/2" barrel length.

1890-1933
Total production - approximately 356,000

If it's a "take-down" model, it COULD be a Model 6.

1901 - 1933
Numbers 00001 - 498,000

As far as serial numbers, a lot of them had the serial number on the side of the top tang, visible only with the action out of the stock.
Not all Remington serial numbers were consectutive for the model.
Military models were often numbered by the contract and commercial guns marked with batch numbers having little relationship to the time of manufacture.

How can i tell how old my remington model 1100 is

Hi tommyw57
You will never find a recoil pad made just for the 1100 unless you buy one from a gun show that came off of an 1100.
Go to Walmart and pickup the recoil pad of your choice, install it on your 1100 and draw the outline of the stock on the oversized recoil pad.
Remove the pad from the gun and on a grinder, reduce the size of the recoil pad down to the size that fits the stock of the 1100 that you drew on the oversized recoil pad.
Please take time to rate me

Can u tell me how to find or figure out the age of my Sweet 16. It was left for me when my dad died and he bought it new before I was born and I am 48 born in 1962. The serial number on my Browning Sweet...

S - 19258-August.
Year is 1925 confirm.
If you want to be more specific and want to know more details. on the month you can call.
You can call Remington at 1-800-243-9700 and go thru the menu selection. One of the menu options is to request information on your Remington based off the serial number. You read off your serial number and the guy looks up in the database the year the gun was made and what the original barrel was for that gun (if gun had barrel options like shotguns do).

post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

Browning shotgun sweet sixteen age and value

In general, a 1950s Sweet Sixteen is a valuable gun. Measure the distance from the trigger to the end of the **** stock to get the "legnth of pull" (LOP). this was 14 1/14 " when it left the factory. If it is shorter, the value will be less.

Without seeing it, although many have been altered which would bring a price $350 - $450 area.

This guide might help if you can determine the condition : OS is 1958.
AUTO-5 SWEET 16
- 16 ga., 2 9/16 in. chamber from 1937-1940, and 2 3/4 in. chamber from 1947-1975, similar configuration to Lightweight, 12 and 20 ga., gold plated trigger, 10 oz. lighter than Standardweight Model 16 ga., 1937-1940 mfg. Sweet Sixteens were available in pre-war Grades I, III, and IV. Mfg. 1937-1975 by F.N.

Grading ...............98% ....95% ....90% ........80% ........70%
Plain Barrel .......$950 ...$825 .......$725...... $625 .......$500
Solid Matte Rib $1,300 .$1,075 ....$950 .......$825 .......$700
Vent. Rib .........$2,100 .$1,650 .....$1,225 ...$1,050 ....$875

Subtract 20% for front safety.
Subtract 20% for 2 9/16 in. chamber.
