SOURCE: "formatting problem"
I had a similar problem, I could upload songs, but they wouldn't play and I couldn't delete them. turned out it was cause I didn't have WMP10 installed on my PC, had an older version. the user manual states it only works with WMP10, and after I installed it (just search for windows media player 10 on the microsoft website) I was able to use the synch function in WMP10 and all the songs are playable (I'm listening to an album as I type :D)

your going to have to format your mp3 player.
SOURCE: cant turn on player
Well plug it into the computer right click on the sansa clip and format it if it wont start then restart it by holding powre for about 10 seconds or so. then try to turn it on...if the thing still wont work download jet audio.(http://www.download.com/JetAudio-Basic/3000-2167_4-10783427.html?tag=lst-1)
and once thats done. you should take all your music on the mp3 and put it onto the desktop in a folder named MUSIC then highlight all the music right click should say somthing about jet audio and edit tag with jet audio then delete Tags....i know this will be the crppiest thing to do cause you have to fill in all the info. this also fixes the frozen refreshing database thing. hope it works

If you have formatted there is no music on the player. You will have to re-sync any the music. Set the USB mode to MTP, then Use Windows Media Player 10 or higher to sync player.
