I have replace the primer bulb on stihl blower BG55, still will not prime the machine, please help, when i push the bulb, I hear air squeal

Without having the unit in front of me to inspect it could be several things. Check any and all rubber fuel hoses to make sure they are not cracked. Since the bulb is a part of the carburetor it could be the fuel line coming out of the carburetor which could be loose or cracked. I would replace the entire carburetor since it is easy to replace and doesn't cost a lot of money.

Both my Echo line trimmer and Stihl hand held blower. No fuel in the bulb on both, I suspect bad fuel. If so, how do I fix?

Check INSIDE the fuel tank. It is possible the fuel line inside the tank has deteriorated and the filter broke off. That would cause fuel line to FLOAT in the tank instead of lie on the bottom. This could easily be the cause of no fuel in primer/purge bulb. You probably need to:

Install new fuel filter..........Install new fuel Lines.......Install new primer bulb........Clean carburetor.

So in some respects, you are probably correct....no fuel filter equals bad fuel entering carb (but if none in bulb, doubtful much fuel (dried up maybe ) in carb.

Gas lines crumbled and don't know how to route new lines correctly

The small diameter line out of fuel tank (has filter in-tank on end) connects directly to the side of the carburetor that has the fuel pump....that is the cover without the hole in it. Other larger diameter fuel line out of tank connects to the longer nipple on the external purge/primer bulb. The bulb "pulls" fresh fuel from the fuel tank to the carb and then out of the carb to itself, where it then "pushes" any air/old fuel back into the fuel tank. The remaining larger diameter fuel line in this setup goes from the metering chamber (has cover with writing on it and a vent-hole) side of the carburetor to the smaller nipple on the purge/primer bulb. Again, on the primer bulb, the longer nipple has a line going directly from it to the tank. This is the return line. The shorter nipple on the bub has a line from it going to the metering chamber side of the carb. If the purge/primer bulb is on top of the carb...small line from carb body to small hole in tank with filter. Larger diameter line goes from the bulb on the fuel pump side of the carb to the larger hole in the fuel tank where sometimes the line is held in place with a nylon nipple connector that keeps the line from pulling out of the tank. Otherwise, the line should enter the tank for about 1/2" or so.

No gas to carb

There should not be a vent hose--it probably goes to a port on the primer bulb. Check the fuel filter for plugging and the condition of all fuel lines (they should be original rubber, not plastic replacements). Try priming the carburetor with the bulb pump--it should pull fuel into the bulb after several pushes. If nothing, check the condition of the primer bulb--it should be soft without cracks or holes. The primer is supposed to pull fuel from the tank's fuel filter, into the carburetor top section, pass into the lower section through the metering valve which is controlled by the diaphragm, then out to the input port of the primer and out the other primer port to return fuel to the tank. Go to: http://www.drystacked.com for an excellent 12 page article on theory and troubleshooting of Walbro carburetors. Hope this helps!

No gas when you prime it

1) Check fuel lines from tank for cracks, fuel filter in tank, primer bulb for cracks

2)Remove Carburetor
replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

I have an echo C8 345 that will not run more than 5 secs. when you push the primer bulb and fill the carb, it will run until that is used up and quit. i took the fuel line off at the carb and gas runs out...

If pushing the bulb feeds fuel to the carburetor it isn't conneced properly.

  1. The filtered hose from the fuel tank connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  2. The output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer bulb (once bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill the bulb as the bulb reinflates).
  3. The pressure side of the primer returns any excess fuel to the tank as it is depressed.

Routing of fuel lines for a weedeater bv200 type 2. Which lines go where from the carb into the tank?

The line with the filter goes to the bottom of the carb. The other line goes to the outlet side of the primer bulb and the other line from the primer bulb goes to the top of the carb (The primer sucks gas through the carb).
Good luck!
Ps. if you are not sure which nipple of the primer is the outlet port then put your finger on one of the ports and push the bulb. If the bulb stays ridged then that's the outlet and if it collapses but doesn't fill but up then that's the inlet side.
