SOURCE: Where to connect third (yellow) wire to lower heating element

A local appliance repairman solved the problem in ten minutes. Charged me $30.00. The two black wires fasten to one terminal, the yellow wire fastens to the other.

We have an approximately 12 year old Jenn-Air downdraft range JDS9860AAP. Serial #22175370GJ. The oven & control panel is shutting off intermittently. Error code F0-0 appeared once.

F0 is usually a stuck keypad button. Sometimes it's a problem with the wiring between the electronic oven control board and the keypad. With this model, it looks like the keypad and control board are sold as a single unit . See https://www.jennairreplacementparts.com/Shop-For-Parts/a13b103d563627/Model-JDS9860AAP-Jenn-Air-Range-Stove-Oven-Parts . You need the series 17 and later control board and timer, WP5760M302-60 . This part is roughly $400 from most vendors. https://www.partselect.com/Models/JDS9860AAP/Sections/CONTROL-PANEL-TOP-ASSEMBLY-AAP/?ModelID=91339&ModelNum=JDS9860AAP&mfgModelNum=&ManufactureID=1&Selected=53345&Position=3&mfg=Maytag&Type=Range&Mark=3 is another source.

I hope this helps.

WIRING A SINGLE PRESET DUAL DIMMER AND FAN SWITCH

Hi *****,

I'm an electrician and can help you with this problem. First - shut off the power. Check your wiring as I describe the connections below.

If this is the only switch operating the fan and light, it should be wired as a single pole in the direction sheet. That is as follows:

1) one black wire - it should be connected to the "hot" power source, 2) one green wire - it should be connected to the bare / green ground wires & switchbox (if metal), 3) one red wire - it should be connected to the fan hot wire, 4) one yellow wire - it should be connected to the light hot wire, the remaining wires (yellow with a "3 way label" and red with a "3 way label") should not be connected to anything and capped with a wirenut.

The wiring changes if you are using a second switch to operate either the fan or light (download & view the wiring diagram provided here to follow along with my text). In this case, the hot wire from the fan or light would connect to the black screw of a standard 3 way switch, and the remaining two terminal screws on the switch would connect to the red / red with 3 way label - or yellow / yellow with 3 way label pair. Power and ground wiring on the dimmer black and green are the same as the single pole wiring described above.
I hope this helps & good luck!

I have a jenn-air wall oven it has a red wire a black wire a white wire and a copper wire but coming out of my wall is only a red/black and copper what dose the white wire go to please help thank you

IF you nhave a 3 wire feed fronm the house for your range, you connect the red and black for the power and then use the copper wire from the wall to connect to the white and copper wires from the range. All new construction must have a 4 wire feed to a range and dryer.

LOST POWER TO OVEN AND CONTROL PANEL

there is no reset buton ,but there are some basic things u can do.first u can chk the power coming into the stove.open the back and u will see power cord connected to the stove.use a multimeter and chk voltage between black and red wire.it should read 240v and black/red with respect to green should read 120 volt.if that is ok look for any burnt wires etc.if all is ok then most likely could have control board.

Jenn Air stove wired backwards

The fan is likely 120-volt fan, and swapping the wire likely put 220 across the fan. Did the fan seem to rev up very fast? The control is also likely 120-volt, and that too had 220 applied to it.

Give me the model number, and I'll find what parts you need to replace

Wiring a used Jenn Air

The red and the black are the two 'hot' wires and the green is the ground. The red and black are connected to L1 and L2 of your cordset or circuit breaker. The green connects to the ground bus bar

Check wiring between keypad and Electronic Range Control (ERC). You either have a loose connection or something is shorted.
