Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Older KENMORE 110 model 92582220. During spin cycle the water continues to trickle or flow instead of stopping thereby wetting the clothes that are going into the dryer. What causes this?

It happens on every selector cycle setting used. Water does not stop trickling even when water knobs are turned off.

Had the same problem with a top load Whirlpool! My problem was with a black box called an "Atc-auto Load Sensing Switch" it has a small black rubber hose going to it. It was plugged up, or had air trapped! I took a small oxygen hose and blew into it, it fixed the problem! do not force air like from air hose or it could damage it. They wanted around 80 dollars for part plus it would have cost for laber to install it, I said no thanks! It is located on top of washer, behind control Panel, Console! If blowing into it doesn't work try sucking air out! Lucky for me, mine was messed up, found out mouse had got in there and started chewing wires, as the saying goes, things happen for a reason! The picture below is from a Whirlpool, Yours might look different! Note, this is for washers that are from the last Regards!

Why did my washing machine stop spinning?

Not knowing the age or model of your washer it's hard to say but if it is the older direct drive then it's a bad lid switch!

During the spin cycle water pours continuously like fill cycle

This problem is commonly attributed to either a water inlet valve leaking by, or a pressure switch malfunction. The following link explains how to diagnose the problem:

I've included parts sources (if required) and how to repair each problem. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this information is helpful to you.

Kenmore warsher, Model num 110.14202300, not drain or spin

The clothes too wet after spin cycle tells me that the water ump is functioning. If it wasn't, there would still be lots of water in the machine when the cycle ended. These Kenmores have the water pump mounted on one side of the electric drive motor and the transmission, drive shaft, and agitator on the other side. The transmission is fastened to the motor by a "coupler", a three piece assy that often breaks. This common failure allows the machine to complete a cycle, however, because of the broken coupler, there is no drive to the tub and no spin or agitate. The clothes seem wet because the spin motion is supposed to provide the force to extract the excess moisture. Leave the lid open and verify that there is no agitate or spin.(During spin cycle use a pen to press down on the safety interlock, a small opening on the the of the machine, toollow the unit to spin with the lid open). If you verify this, flip the machine over and locate the coulper on one side of the motor. One side will be cracked along the shaft. Sears parts stores carry the coupler in stock. ($18.50) Hope this helps.

After spin clothes are still wet kenmore 110-20702990

If your clothes are still wet after a spin cycle it can indicate that you may have either a drainage issue and the water is coming back into the machine after the spin, or your drain pump has broken some or all of its impellers that force the water out. i hope you found this useful.

Thanks.

I have a Kenmore frontloading washer, model no. 417.42042100. At the end of the wash cycle, the clothes are still very wet; that is, still SOAKED with water, even though all the water has been drained...

HI. your unit is equipped with a spin control board. this board, if damaged, will not initiate an adequate spin. This will not allow for proper drainage and drying of the clothes. The spin motor regulates the rotation speed during the spin cycle. It seems to be the culprit at this time. Have the spin board replaced asap.

This part will usually cost around $150.00 at the most.

Wet clothes at end of spin cycle

sounds like your transmission is not working properly. check your warranty information. (should be in your owners manual) many of the whirlpool made top loaders came with a 5 year warranty on the transmission/gear case
