Hello. I have a Pontiac G5 2007. Rain water flooded the floor mat of my car. All the windows and sun roof were closed. The sun roof was dry, what might have caused this. Thanks in advance.

I just got this car recently and it has been through a few snow and rain storms. However the other night it rained hard and I came home from work the next day and was going to go for a cruise but found my floor carpet to be soaked. I looked all around and everywhere else is dry; the sunroof, all around under the steering wheel, etc. The only water I found was drops dripping downwards from the plastic beside the door on the side of the dash. I couldn't see any farther up than about the height of the hood as the side of car turned to metal. Any ideas?

I had this problem once with mini-van that I owned and it turned out that the grill on the outside, at the base of the windshield had plugged with tree debris and the water could not find the drain hole so it backed up and came in under the dash and filled the cavity where the blower motor for the heater sits.

I cleaned that out, pulled the blower motor and dried the tub it sat in which by then had mildewed, then put it all back together and things were fine. The blower motor had shorted out by the way so I had the fun of buying and installing a new one.

SOURCE: water on the passenger side floor when it rains

Sounds like the drain for your heater case is blocked, there is a small drain tube on the engine side of the firewall on the passenger side, you can shine a light down there and poke a screw diver in it or just pull the elbow right off and it should take care of it.

SOURCE: Water leaking into 2005 Camry 6 cyl under carpet drivers side.

I think that I can help you. It sounds like your drain-tube is plugged up. Get in the passenger side, and pull the carpet back from under the glove box. Look for a black rubber pipe that goes from a black box, and pokes thru the firewall, on the passenger side. Remove the hose from the box, and have a container ready to catch water. If water comes out of the black box, your drain hose is plugged up. Clean out the clog, and you will be golden.

SOURCE: I can hear water sloshing

The water probably went down between the window and the door. On the bottom of the door is a drain hole, with all that rain it looks like the water in the door washed some dirt or something over the hole and stopped it up but not before it went inside the car and onto the carpet. Just unplug the hole with a small stick or something and watch for the water drain out. Open the doors and let your car dry out. Should be O.K.

1996 Regal GS 2door drivers side floor gets wet after a rain.

Body leaks can be a nightmare to find as the ingress point is sometimes well away from the wet spots.

Door seal, sun roof, sun roof drain(s) and windscreen are the most common ingress points though sometimes a blocked heater drain can cause a flood especially if the car is not parked on level ground.

Water on the drivers floor.

Does your car have a sun (or moon) roof? A leak in a sunroof will sometimes follow the roof over to the door post and down to the floor were the water will accumulate. This can be hard to find sometimes but having one person spraying water on the roof while a second one checks the inside of the vehicle you may be able to pinpoint the leak.
Hope this helps.

What causes water to floor jeep after hard rain?

The water leaks inside through the firewall in the cowl beneath the windshield wipers. Look up underneath the dash from the floor with a light. If I can't get to the leak I pour a liquid sealer into the cowl in that area on a DRY day. It might take a few tries to seal it.

Leaking water

Yeah ford would just replace it , You need a company that installs sun roofs they may well have just the seals for this sun roof , I would google sunroof installers in you area and see if there is one local who will fix this . I would say this is also not helping with you other problems .

Just bought a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix Wide Track and the sun roof will not open and makes no noise when control button is pressed. Investigated and found that the motor that opens and closes the sunroof is...

Hi.
I was having trouble with my sun roof on a 2004 Montecarlo. I had two issues water coming in and would not operate fully. I could toggle the switch and it would not move very far. this is what I found. I started to pull down the lining and saw that the motor was in front of the sun roof.
I found the drain lines on the front side corners of the tray around the inside of the sun roof. I found that the tube ran down the pillar's and out between the door hinge's. I took them off and blow them out one was plugged up. That fixed the water problem. The roof would move with help from me pushing. I got it opened and noticed the grease was hard. I cleaned up the grease and removed most of it with WD40.
Now the sun roof works good as new.
I thought the water problem was because the roof was not fully closed but I guess it is designed to have water pass by the roof seal and have it drain away. I always noticed water under the car after a rain or a car wash but did not realize iit was the sun roof draining.

Front windshield is leaking above passenger side

so if i were you i would be checking drain plug or drain opening in front of wind shield. probably it is under plastic grill next to wipers. it transfers the collected rain water infront of windshield and direct it to ground. if it is clogged flooded water can drain into cabin.

After rain passenger side floor of car is flooded

the water is most likely coming through the cowl and through the heater box to your floor. you would have to disassemble the cowl (plastic part between hood and windshield) and inspect the seal there.

Water leak

sounds like you have a window seal leak.  The only other way water will leak into the car is a leaky heater core or a clogged A/C drain.  Do you have a sun roof that could be leaking?  As they have drains too.
