Dryer turns but doesn't heat

The dryer starts, turns but does not heat. I have blown out all the possible places lent could go but still no heat. Any suggestions?

The heater turns on when conditions are met;
1.) thermostat is allowing it to
2.) over-temperature device is allowing it to
3.) mode selector switch is allowing it to
4.) heater coil is continuous and not broken

let's focus on number 2. some dryers have a self-resetting device that "repairs" itself after temp drops to safe level. others have a fuse type device that must be replaced if over temperature occurs. First, test for AC voltage at the heater.terminals. if ac present, heater is broken or has faulty connection. If no AC, remove power from unit and test resistance across each device listed above. Ohms for each should be as close to zero as possible except for #4 which should be about 2-5 ohms.

Frigidaire dryer dries for a few seconds then stops and lights blink.

Hi laylabetes - Answering your question, there isn't a way to actually CLEAN the control panel. Depending on an actual diagnose from a professional, the part would need replacing or if possible repair. However, if your model is electric, turns and there is no heat, it could possibly be a blown fuse. There are two house fuses that supply voltage to your dryer circuit in your fuse box. If one of the two is blown, the dryer may turn but will not heat. Check and replace fuse in fuse box if necessary. Please feel free to reconnect if this does not resolve your issue - Best, Chris

Thermal fuse blown....likely causes????

The thermal fuse trips out when it builds up too much heat. That is caused by the vent being restricted. Clean out the vent the lent trap and any lint build up in the machine. Hopefully this will fix you problem.

Not heating

Check to see if your vent, is venting. If not clean the lent from the vent and back from the dryer. If that doesn't do it, more then likely it is your elements. Which in most cases it will cost little over $125 to fix.

My Bosch wtl6304 condenser tumble dryer keeps indicating empty filter light and bleeps rapid. It warns me twice like this then trips the thermostat out. I have cleaned filter, washed the condenser out and...

never really heard of a condenser model dryer before however it does seem like internally its full of lent inside of the dryer housing itself around the heating elements if you have a large air compressor open it all up and spray air into everything in the dryer where you see lent build up this will force any lent out of the dryer and it should hopefully run as the day you first got it ;P found this to be an issue even with an LG TROMM dryer i opened up and wasnt drying very well

I have a Maytag Dryer that stopped in the middle of a cycle and there is no lent at all and the dryer will not come back on..

Possibly a blown thermal fuse. May have to call repair man. Pull bottom panel and ohm our thermal fuse, just behind blower, lint trap assy. Also, check for clogged vent. This sometimes causes the thermal fuse to blow.

My Hot Point Dryer keeps shutting off while the clothes are still wet. When I go to restart it will not start until it cools off. We took the dryer apart cleaned it all out and we always make sure the lent...

Thermostat controls heat. There is also a

motor centrifugal switch, in the element

circuit, that the motor closes to insure

the motor is turning. Try another heat

setting. There is more than one

thermostat. You may have blown the

'thermal fuse' too, which requires

replacement. The element has a contact in

the 'timer' circuit too.
It is possible that your element has

failed also.

Tripped high limit. Must clean the lint

filter and the exhaust vent tube and all

the way in to the dryer. Hot air exit is

restricted.

Dryer has heat..but very low temp , takes forever

Make sure that your vent pipe is completely clear of excess lent. It will not dry properly if the venting is not running freely. If the unit is cleared of lent, inside and out, the only other possibility is the thermostat is not reading correctly.

Dryer doesn't dry

YES, most defintely. This typically causes the dryer to overheat and eventually blows the thermal cut-out or heating element.

SYMPTOMS:

Dryer runs, but does not heat - possible bad heating element or thermal cut-out.

Dryer does not run at all - possible bad door switch, blown thermal fuse, timer or drive motor.

Does your dryer exhibit any of these symptoms? Please post back and let me know.
