While TV was working normal, I briefly left the room where TV was. When I returned the TV had audio but no video. The screen was jet black. This condition existed for a couple of days. A few days ago, while TV was on, I unplugged the HDMI cable and immediately lost audio. I re-plugged the cable (expecting audio to return). Audio did not return. Now I have neither audio nor video. With the aid of a flashlight in darken room I can see the backlights through the vents in back of TV when TV is powered on. TV is Samsung. Model# UN40H521AFXZA. Version# LD05.

Nope a very easy problem .. What it is is the relay is stuck on or closed so when you plug in the set the power comes up But the micro hasent told the rest of the set to work yet. So when you hit the power button. its just like you hit the power and it activated the relay and the rest of the set. Now in some rare occasions the driver transistor for the relay was shorted But most of the time its the contacts that weild shut, but you cant just clean them as it will work for a while, but in a month or so you will be in the smame boat. But if you not a tech this repair shouldnt cost you to much because if your not an experienced tech you can not only cause harn to the set but also you yourself BE CAREFULL and take the set to a pro!!!! Good Luck

I first changed the 220uf capacitor with no luck. I flipped the BURN switch to on and the set has been working great for a week now. Daughter left it on for about 20 hours overnight with no problem. Anybody have an idea what those 4 tiny switches are for? I have heard these type of switches called "dip switches". They are tiny white switches in a yellow block on the lower left side of the upper circuit board. The top one was labled 40", the next one down was labled 46", the 3rd one was 4 letters "EW" something I think, and then the bottom one was labled "BURN".

I have the same problem - its a HDCP handshake issue. Sony says the firmware in the Westinghouse TV needs to be updated - Westinghouse says that they have firmware updates for some models depending on your TV's serial number, otherwise they are working on firmware updates for the rest of us that should fix the problem. Call Westinghouse to see if you can get updated.

What you have is a darfon V144 board (junk). it's a simple fix if you know how to use some basic tools and a soldering iron. Get an led (i used digikey's PN: L10041-ND) and solder it from pin 10 to pin 16 on the OZ960 chip on the inverter board. If you need the chip layout type "OZ960 pdf" in google. Hope this helps.

The Toshiba 32AV500U cannot display 1080p. Hook up your PS3 to your computer monitor, provided that it can display 1080p, or some other TV that can, then change your Video Output settings under Settings> Display Settings and uncheck 1080p, which will allow the PS3 to display in 1080i. Once you do that, then hook up the Toshiba via HDMI and it will work with no problem.
