2003dodge ram hemi 1500, no power, torque, or throttle response

Ok, I have had a nagging problem for over a year with my 2003 4x4 dodge ram hemi 1500 (70K miles). The truck feels like it is starving for air or fuel. It has no torque and horrible throttle response. It takes a full throttle stab to get it to downshift and accelerate while driving. Even under full acceleration it will only rev as high as 5K rpm and it labors to go over 70 miles per hour. I have taken the truck to 2 seperate dealerships and no one can find the problem. Ive replaced the cat & muffler with high flow versions, both O2 sensors, plugs, inject cleaned, checked fuel presure (47-50 PSI), checked my grounds, etc. There are no codes now and the only ones ive had in the past were O2 sensors and evap system (very intermitant). The probelm occured suddenly while driving down a rough road. I thought it was a colapsed cat or plugged fuel filter but both have been addressed. I guess theres only electrical and induction/throttle issues left and I dont know where to begin to look. Ive heard of some guys having issues with IAC's and TP sensors but i figured those would throw a code. Im all out of ideas and any direction/help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

AS far as IAC goes, you would probably experience stalling at lights, on turns , anytime engine under load like AC on at stop. TP sensor? Maybe, but is easy to check with an ohm meter. I'm sure you have checked all brakes for possibly holding on slightly. You have checked throttle pedal & linkage to make sure pedal down all the way, is opening throttle all the way? Does it feel at all like it's holding back, or just starving? Any good tranny shop that could check torque converter for proper operation in your area? One other idea would be to join free, at (allpar.com) and post there, as that would be a spot where all or a lot of guys with same vehicle may be able to shed some light on it for you.

04 DODGE Ram hemi cylinder 3 misfire

Check engine compression and compare. then test running engine compression most engines have about 130-170 cranking compression and about 90-110 running compression. OR bring that cylinder to its Top Dead Center compression stroke apply air to the cylinder and check to see where the air is going open throttle plate bad intake valve, from exhaust pipe bad exhaust valve, from oil cap piston rings.

2003 dodge ram 1500 hemi 4x4, no power or throttle response!

I also have an '03 Ram 1500 with the Hemi, and I too noticed that the throttle system definitely sucks. The issue lies with Chrysler opting for speed density instead of mass air flow, which is what the Hemi should have. I landed an a chatroom that had a procedure to try to fix the throttle response. Simple procedure.
1. turn the Ram on, but don't start.
2. wait 7 -10 seconds for onboard diagnostics to cycle and finish.
3. press the accelerater to the floor, using moderate leg speed and then let up.
4. shut Ram off, wait 10 seconds.
5. start up

After using this procedure, my Ram finally accelerated like a Hemi Ram should. The chatroom said that for some reason, this won't work on every Hemi Ram, but since you don't hook up into the computer, it's worth a shot.
Best of luck!
