If you are using HDMI output could be a bad or cheap cable.
I had same problem, tried another HDMI cable and all OK.

ur supply board capacitor are weak..so that why lcd is not blinking or turning on.if you can change the capacitor you should do it.the sign of capacitor weak is that the capacitor is pull up from upper side.

Sounds like maybe power supply, but I would check with flashlight 2 in from screen when the green light comes on to see if you have a picture, if so then you have a bad inverter board, if not then power supply problems. You can look for bad or bulged caps in PS

It is symptom of weak lamp in tv.
Please replace lamp, replacement procedure would be written in user manual and its easy. Buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv.

If the backlights for the screen do come on and you also have 12v and 5v feed the main board then it does sound like the mainboard will need to be replaced.

Since you're using "analog cable", I would adjust the television such that the picture is not streched. This means there will be black bars to the left/right of the 4:3 picture, but you should experience some improvement in picture quality because the TV is not trying to interpolate what to do with an already crappy analog cable signal.

You may also want to add a signal booster where the cable first enters your residence... often, folks split that analog signal up so much it is weak... and looks much like you describe.

Mine did the same thing once. I think all I did was hit the setup on the remote, and let it run back through all the channels and then it worked just fine.

ur picture tube might have got weak or ur RGB FILTERS MAY BE WEAK OR RGB CONNECTIONS MIGHT BE WEAK or chroma ic is weak.
