SOURCE: problem of my printer photosmart d5160

I have the exact same printer. Struggled for hours with it, until I learned it's ways. If you have good cartridges in and purge your print buffer from your computer, then 'gently but firmly' slam the top cover.
I don't see sensors, etc that detect it being up, but I just closed mine, had ! blinking, etc. Then gently 'slammed' the top cover and it reset and worked great.

I received an error code on my HP Photosmart D5160 Inkjet Printer of 003311FF44dddd6. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got the same error code. I disassembled plastic body to reveal mechanism. At the end of initialisation procedure I noticed that the cleaning caret was stuck and a ckracking sound appears. I took off a small triangular cogweel panel at the right hand end of the mechanism that actually gears the cleaning caret. I disassembled the panel and discovered a brocken cogweel. Also I noticed that the cleaning caret itself was hard to move. I applied some grease, but now I need the brocken cogweel to be replaced or fixed. The resume: if you are not into fixing your equipment and got such an error - probably a service center is waiting for you.
