If there isn't a menu or input button on the TV near the power/volume/channel buttons, you can't and have to go find one on eBay instead.

SOURCE: input channel with no remote

You should be able to select the AV input with an Input or Menu button on the front of the TV.  If there are no arrow keys the Channel and Volume buttons may provide up-down-left-right action.

SOURCE: Direct TV remote "tv input" button won't work with my Sony TV

I came across this looking for a similar solution for my Samsung TV, and I found the solution on ehow.com. Apparently after you program the remote for your TV you have to hold mute and select again until it flashes twice then put in 960 to make the remote control TV input too. Note you're remote should be in TV mode while you do this. It seems silly that the DirectTV guy wouldn't do this when programming the remote.

Hi, I have 32 inch symphonic lcd tv how can I change the input without the original remote and there's black lines going down my screen how do I get rid of them thanks

Hi Anonymous,
You can change the input by using the source key on the TV control panel. As for the black lines, It is due to loose connections on the panel and it may be difficult for you to try to correct them. Please consult a good TV Tech to do this for you.
Good luck.

How do i change the input without a remote? on a w2702 symphonic tv?

Hello. There are some functions that require a remote, and input is one of them. If you do not have the remote, you can purchase a "universal remote" at Radio Shack, or Walmart. Joe

No input channels

Universal remote control are normally programmed for basic functions, ie. chennel up down, volume up down, numbers, etc. This is even written in the manual that they do not guarantee that all functionality can be used. Here are your options: 1. Try all the codes that match your TV, there is a slim chance that the other code have the functionality that you need. 2. Buy the original model remote control. 3. If you know of someone that have the same TV, buy a universal remote control with 'learning' function and copy the signal from the original remote control. I have the same problems before. Now I use my Casio wrist remote control to copy the special functions such as A/V so that even if the original remote control is lost, I can still use these functionality
