Brand new watch does not run

the problem is the battery of the watch. it has to be replaced by new one, it is new but it probably sat for a long time in selling shelves that when the time you purchased it, it is out of battery charged. you can bring it to the watch retailer store from where you bought it and you can ask for the warranty of your watch. i hope i had been helped you.

I have an eco drive watch for 8 years now and while it charge normally in the sun, it loses the charge (hands and graduations stop glowing) after about only 1 hour whereas before it would stay charged for...

yes , though the battery is charged by solar cell it does need to be replaced after awhile. So you can get the battery replaced, if it is the battery .

If its not the battery than the solar cell capacitor can also be replaced.

This should be checked out by a professional watch maker they can test the battery and the charger for you for free.

I left the battery to long on my Cartier Santos and it no longer works. A jeweler sent it out and he says that it will cost $600. to clean up. He also says that the movement itself was not damaged, so it...

Hi,

Most likely he sent it to Cartier. They charge about $400 to replace a battery. So the jeweler is marking that price up to you. If there is nothing wrong with the movement a new battery installed by a qualified watchmaker is much less.

Hope this helps,

My husband purchased a new PS watch, that doesn't need batteries, but is suppose to stay going by movement. The problem is it stops all of the time if he is not actively moving.

Kinetic dive watches utilize motion, or kinetic energy from watch or hand movement. If there is inadequate movement to keep the watch going.

RECOMENDATION:

1. Involve some much needed physical movement (Physical Training) that will both help the wearer and the watch with the watch being the judge of if he is moving enough every day?

2. Get a battery powered watch.

Number one is a better solution.

Hope this tip helps.

Does the watch have to be sent out to get the battery replaced?

Ebel are an expensive watch so yes please take it to a reputable jeweller who will remove the back of the watch with a special tool without scratching it and replace the battery, usually without charge and only charging for the battery

Repair location in my area

Try AWCI.com for someone in your area. I recommend a good watchmaker even for a cell replacement, they will usually clean the case and band, do a consumption check, a min run voltage test and a water resistance test and new seals to keep watch fresh.

Watch not charging?

Hi there.

There are two types, A kinetic rechargable one, and a solar one.

Just check it is the solar one!

Try wearing it for a day and see if there is any change at all.

If it does nothing, there may be a fault with the rechargable battery. If so , it is cost effective to have this repaired.

Casio GW-1200BA G-Shock

Try taping it to the inside of your window for a couple days and see if that makes it charge up enough to act right. You might also want to make sure that you don't have the "auto light" on. If the light turns on when you tilt the watch to a 45 degree angle then press the light button for 2 seconds to shut that off. If that doesn't work for you then you are probably going to have to have the battery changed.
