You can't record the Freeview channels from the TV. It doesn't work that way. The reason you can still record terrestrial channels is because the VCR is still connected to your roof aerial with a co-axial cable and the VCR has its own built-in analogue tuner for recording terrestrial TV programmes.
To record the digital Freeview channels, you will either need to connect a separate Freeview set-top box to the VCR, or buy a VCR which has a built-in digital (DVB-T) tuner.
The VCR does not record programmes from the TV. It needs to be connected directly to the signal source, i.e. your aerial.
If you need any further assistance, please let me know.
It maybe that the TV needs to be completely reset. in the menu somewhere should be a setting to "restore factory settings" or "reset to default" something like that...
Are you using the freeview tuner, I only ask as it looks like your having a similar problem that I had a few months back. I moved into a new house and plugged in the tv. Using the freeview tuner I wasnt able to get any channels. It turned out although the aerial picked up regular analogue tv it wasnt the correct aerial for freeview.
On your remote control, press 'menu'. Then select 'set up' on the screen. Then select 'Installation' on the screen. Then select 'Automatic channel scan' on the screen. The box should then scan for all channels, and with luck BBC will be included. If not, please repost. Some older Digihome PVR80s can't cope with the new multiplexing standard employed by digital freeview.
Press the [i+] or MENU button on the remote control to display the DIGITAL INFO menu.
Press the BLUE button to display the MAIN MENU.
Press the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight AUTO TUNING then press the OK button to display the AUTO TUNING MENU.
Press the RED button to start the auto tuning process for all available digital channels.
Wait for the process to complete.
If you wish to CANCEL the auto tuning process whilst it is processing then press the BLUE button at any time. You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. Products such as this will use an internal tuner to tune channels, this tuner will not detect your televisions freeview stations, to record from your television, connect scart out from tv to the scart in on the recorder, then select the scart A/V channel, use the television to select the channel you want to record, you will not be able to record 1 freeview channel and watch another freeview chanel as you only have 1 digital tuner (in the television) the recorder does not have freeview built in.. hope that helps
