I need a picture and location of the shut off valve on a mcculloch 5700 generator. I am trying to shut the gas off while I clean out the carborater because the gas is pouring out of it.

I believe the electric solenoid is a fuel shut off. solenoid needs energized, normally with switch 12 Volts. other then float bowls are the carbs. identical, if they are switch bowls, should work. If not you will have to add switched power to solenoid, the link below looked similar to yours.

Did you remove the spark plugs and drain the fuel from the cylinders? The gas in the oil was definitely a sign that the oil needed draining and replacement, but the pull start may be hydro-locked in the cylinders are full of fuel.

Have to an ultrasinic cleaning of the carburetor and see if that will clean up the problem,

Bad on parts though most are NLA. but a carburetor from a Honda 11hp horizonal might work on this Chinese Honda cloned engine.

if you can not find a carburator you may need to find a re-built kit on the internet.

Take the make and model #s to a lawnmower shop, they can get what you need, if they do not have it in stock. Also remember to check in tank strainer for restriction.

Sounds like you may have a wire shorting out. Check all ign wires and make sure one hasnt rubbed through. Maybe take off your front cover and make sure something isnt shorting out your coil contacts. Hope this helps

ther gas that was in the carb probably evaporated. you might tryt a little spray starter fluid in the spark plug hole or in the air intake of the carb, This might just get it running long enough to draw gas into the carb and get it self sustaining,
