Hi everyone I was just having problems with my sanyo flat screen recently. The volume and channels would go up and down on their own but I am pleased to say I figured it out. Now I would like to share my way so no one has to go out and buy a new tv for $400 or more. HOLD THE VOLUME DOWN BUTTON ON THE TV PLACE SOMETHING UNDERNEATH IT DON'T LET GO OF THE BUTTON IT MIGHT TAKE A COUPLE HOUR'S POSSIBLE EVEN A DAY. THE TV WILL THEN RESTART AGAIN AND GO BACK TO NORMAL.. I HOPE THIS HELPS OTHERS WITH THIS PROBLEM..

Do you keep the tv on while doing this?

  • Anonymous Jun 21, 2019

I have a Sanyo Flat screen that I bought just a couple years a ago. It just started turning the volume up and down by itself and and changing the channel by itself also in the past week. I turned it off and let it rest for a few minutes the first time. It had time to reset that time. This last time I had to unplug the Tv from the power strip (to protect it from power surges) and all the other compotents from the back. I do have a 49 inch by the way. I let it set for about ten minutes to reset the computer inside. hooked it back up and it is working fine now. No need to replace a compentant inside. Just have to let computer reset once in a while.

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

I have a 40 inch Sanyo TV, when I turn the volume up or down there is a ladies voice that says volume up or volume down, I am trying to get rid of the voice, please help

Sounds like you've turned on a voice over accessibility function. Scroll through the menu and you'll find a way to turn it off.

Get my dish reciever, sony home theatre, and 55in sanyo tv to work together

If your TV and sound system both have a Digital Optical Out/In you can use a TOSLink cable (an optical cable) to connect your TV directly to your sound system, and remove the connection between the DISH receiver and the sound system. As long as your sound system is on the right input, all sound accompanying the picture on screen will go to your sound system. Most TVs also have an option to turn off the internal speakers, if not just reduce your volume all the way down to avoid that weird ghost sound effect. If you use your sound system all the time for volume, you can program the sound system to your DISH remote's AUX, and even set the remote so that it only sends volume and mute commands to the sound system (that way you don't have to dance between sat, tv, and aux all day, just leave it in sat mode).

To program your remote to the sound system, follow the instructions on the sheet you got with the remote (yeah, right like anyone kept that) http://www.mydish.com/support/remotecodes you can use that link to program your remote. You can also use the learning mode if your remote has a little glossy square on the top left side and you have the original remote to the sound system. (Learning mode can be gleaned from the remote manual Remote Control Manuals)

After programming the aux device, and verifying that it changes the volume up, down, and mute, THEN:

Hold AUX until light blinks 3 times, hit pound (#), Volume Up, 0 (Zero), pound (#), SAT, then test to make sure it goes up and down.

Volume keeps going down

This is a problem with the sound select board, and there is no real solution. One thing to try is to press the manual volume up or down buttons on the side of the TV and keep them depressed to see of remote volume control is restored. This over rides the volume creep issue. I solved this by shorting the UP control to ground and the creep went away, but there is no manual volume control any more, but the remote still works.

Sanyo DP32649 works fine for a few minute, then sound goes off. turning the TV off for a moment & then back on restores the sound. But sometimes this will happen ever few minutes for the length of the...

I have the exact same problem. It's a volume control issue. For me, when I turn my TV on and have it on low volume, it works fine (but sounds somewhat distorted). But once I turn the volume up to normal levels, the speakers crackle and then go out. I opened my tv and checked my speakers, and they were perfectly fine; not blown or anything. As well, the audio processor and circuitry didn't appear burned at all.
This used happened every few months for 30min or and hour at a time. Then, about 2 months ago, it happened again, and ever since then it still hasn't worked properly. The only way I got around this was by buying a cheap 2.1 speaker system, and connecting it to the audio output on the TV. Or you could buy a speaker bar or home theater system. I believe this issue has to do with problems with the circuitry in the audio amplifier, and there's not much you can do except add external speakers, or contact Sanyo if you still have an active warranty.
Depending on where you bought your TV (such as from walmart), its possible that the LCD panel was produced by Sanyo, but the electronics were done in China. Walmart does this with nearly every TV they sell.
