Volume on my sanyo tv goes up and down on its own

Buy a new remote for it and stop using the buttons on the television! They are $20.

Try unhooking the cable going to the selector buttons on the TV and see if it work ok with the remote, if it does the button cluster needs replacing, if it acts the same replace the main

If your TV and sound system both have a Digital Optical Out/In you can use a TOSLink cable (an optical cable) to connect your TV directly to your sound system, and remove the connection between the DISH receiver and the sound system. As long as your sound system is on the right input, all sound accompanying the picture on screen will go to your sound system. Most TVs also have an option to turn off the internal speakers, if not just reduce your volume all the way down to avoid that weird ghost sound effect. If you use your sound system all the time for volume, you can program the sound system to your DISH remote's AUX, and even set the remote so that it only sends volume and mute commands to the sound system (that way you don't have to dance between sat, tv, and aux all day, just leave it in sat mode).

You can also use the learning mode if your remote has a little glossy square on the top left side and you have the original remote to the sound system. This is a problem with the sound select board, and there is no real solution. One thing to try is to press the manual volume up or down buttons on the side of the TV and keep them depressed to see of remote volume control is restored. This over rides the volume creep issue. I solved this by shorting the UP control to ground and the creep went away, but there is no manual volume control any more, but the remote still works.

Yes. Connect the audio from the cable box to the home theatre. Just change your function when u are watching tv to video 2 or where ever u plugged it in. Then turn your tv volume down and use volume on this sanyo

with the tv on and sky off, press red button & select together, remote blinks twice.press tv then standby repeat this action until the tv turns off. when it goes off press select. press standby again and tv should start. your sky remote should then work perfect. as a tip with tv on and sky off press tv then back up this should then go to the freeview setup and you can watch those as well for free

Check to see if it will decrease on the TV itself,install fresh batteries, mash the down button on the remote applying a little pressure, button may be stuck. hope this helps..

I have the exact same problem. It's a volume control issue. For me, when I turn my TV on and have it on low volume, it works fine (but sounds somewhat distorted). But once I turn the volume up to normal levels, the speakers crackle and then go out. I opened my tv and checked my speakers, and they were perfectly fine; not blown or anything. As well, the audio processor and circuitry didn't appear burned at all.
This used happened every few months for 30min or and hour at a time. Then, about 2 months ago, it happened again, and ever since then it still hasn't worked properly. The only way I got around this was by buying a cheap 2.1 speaker system, and connecting it to the audio output on the TV. Or you could buy a speaker bar or home theater system. I believe this issue has to do with problems with the circuitry in the audio amplifier, and there's not much you can do except add external speakers, or contact Sanyo if you still have an active warranty.
Depending on where you bought your TV (such as from walmart), its possible that the LCD panel was produced by Sanyo, but the electronics were done in China. Walmart does this with nearly every TV they sell.
