SOURCE: Partition error

Try using the command FDISK /mbr. This should fix the master boot record. If not, then if you don't care about the data on your drive, you could wipe it clean with any of the several utilities available on the web and then try partitioning it. Search for "Wipe Disk" in Google.

SOURCE: Western digital passport i/o device error

90% of the time this is a power problem. The USB port on the computer can not supply enough watts. Use an external USB hub that has a 5V power supply.

Hibernation partition

Make sure you have the HDD in the same state as it was on Hibernating. If it was removed after Hibernation, it will not be 'seen' by the PC. Everything that was connected during Hibernation MUST be connected again when starting the machine so the O/S can follow the route.

My new Western Digital Desktop PATA EIDE 3.5 Inch Internal 250GB Hard Drive only shows 127GB on My Computer. I am running XP SP3 with IDE Connectors. Is the Mother Board too old to handle that many...

The motherboard BIOS most likely have a hard drive size limit. Yes you can create two or mare partitions to use the rest of the hard drive space.
Go to Control Panel - Administrator Tools - Disk Manager to create a partition and format this partition.

MacBookpPro osx10.4.11 doesn't recognize new WD passport

the problem is that your western digital operates using the NTFS (New Technology File System) which is the standard file system of Windows. Apple macs is not interopable with native NTFS therefore you need to install a read-write NTFS file-system driver on your mac.

an excellent free mac NTFS driver can be found here-

Western digital Scorpio 120 G

Actually there is no solution, the hard drive is bad.
What I ended doing was recording the partition in iso. ( I had a Factory Partition)
Got a new hard drive 160G scorpio unfortunately it does not come with installation disc.
Installed Vista, and with vista created a partition and then installed the contents of the factory partition.

HDD data recovery

most hard drives have that erie only 2 partitians at a time this is with your computer how it can handle since you made three particians there is a chance that it only allows partitions of only 2

say for instance you have a celeron your comp would only allow what you memmory can give you this would knock out the 2 partician when created the 3rd partician
not enough memmory to fill all 3 partitians

safe end to this particians in long run can hurt your comp more than help it i suggest buying another hdd to make your back ups or get a portable pull out system hdd this ensures your files are as easy to get as putting in a new hard drive
hope this gave some insite
