Denon AVR-1601 Receiver

When I plug in my receiver a humming noise comes through my speakers. If i turn up the volume the sound will drown it out. The lower the volume the more you can hear the humming noise.
P.S. When I Plug in my woofer it also makes a humming noise.

I've got a Pioneer QX-747 quadraphonic that is pristine, with the exception of noise from the front speakers only regardless of the volume setting, or the input setting. How can I resolve this hissing noise?

Is doesn't go up with the volume, and does not seem to be associated with any control or setting. Think of a hiss in the background of the front speakers, the louder the volume goes the more it drowns out the hiss, but it's still there.

    Help!?!?!?

Standby light stays on after blinking , stays power up but no sound

The issue you're experiencing with your Denon receiver AVR-1700 may be due to a few reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try:
  1. Check the connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected to the receiver and the speakers. Make sure that the input source is selected correctly on the receiver, and the volume is turned up.
  2. Reset the receiver: Sometimes, resetting the receiver can resolve issues with the sound. To reset the Denon AVR-1700, turn off the power, and unplug the power cord for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, plug the power cord back in and turn on the power.
  3. Check the speaker settings: Ensure that the speaker settings are configured correctly on the receiver. Check that the speaker wires are connected properly to the receiver and the speakers. Make sure that the speakers are not damaged or blown.
  4. Check for firmware updates: Make sure that the receiver is running the latest firmware. Visit the Denon website to check if any firmware updates are available for your model.
  5. Check for hardware issues: If none of the above steps work, there may be a hardware issue with the receiver. In this case, you may want to contact Denon customer support or take the receiver to a professional repair shop for further assistance.
Hopefully, one of these solutions will help you resolve the issue with your Denon receiver AVR-1700.

I have a Denon receiver and I took all the wires out and double checked them and they are in the right place but the receiver keeps turning off. I get a loud humming noise sometimes when the wires cross...

There's a clue there. Loud hum and tampering with wires changes something. Disconenct all speaker wires and see how that works out. Then add one at a time.

I have a Denon Surround receiver, model AVR-1804 which manages our home surround sound system (6 speakers including a sub-woofer). When the TV (Visio HDTV) is turned off, but the receiver is still on, we...

Some kind of ground potential difference between the TV and the AVR or perhaps it's a badly shielded cable.

Considering the multitude of variations you may have connecting the TV video and audio to the receiver it's hard to pin it down, but try removing all cabling between them and that should silence the hum. Add any cable and see if it comes back. Disconnect it. Test each cable the same way. At some point a single cable might be implicated. Replace it.

Also consider routing of any analog audio cable near power cables, the TV or other sources of high voltage and magnetic fields. I have a known problem when my overhead dimmer-controlled track lighting is on. Food for thought.
