Nokia 3110c - some of the contacts in phone memory not displayed
While saving a contact to phone memory, the phone rebooted automatically. After coming on, some of the contacts in phone memory are not displayed. All contacts in SIM card are displayed while browsing contacts. (e.g. no contacts starting with letters A to R are displayed. Those starting with S to Z are displayed). But when a call is received the contact name in phone memory is displayed. Also saving a number already available shows an error, even though that contact is not accessible through the Search Contacts!
I tried resetting the phone, without success. Now I have backed up all to the laptop computer through bluetooth. I am looking for a way to "format" the phone contacts, if such an option is available!
Is there any solution? Thanks -kpk

This is a very common issue with nokia phones. It occurs mainly when you have stored a particular number with more than one name. For example if you have a number stored to your sim using one name and you have it stored to your phone memory with another name. In most cases, when you install a new SIM card to a nokia phone, it might copy the contacts from the SIM memory to the phone memory automatically and add some extra information or edit the name automatically. This can cause a conflict between which name the phone should display when any action associated with the number is to be performed. In this case, it displays just the number. To solve this problem without having to delete any contact, all you need to do is to go to your contact settings and then select which memory should be the default display memory. Hi, Please note that Nokia 3110c does not support online firmware upgrade. Hence, I suggest you to take the phone to the nearest Nokia Care Centre to upgrade the phone firmware. Note: all the data in the mobile will be lost during the software upgrade procedure. Before submitting your phone at the Service Centre, you may kindly take a backup of the phone contacts data to the SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card. If the phone supports memory card, take a back up of contacts, messages, images, clips etc. on to the memory card or on to the PC.
FIRST OF ALL FORMAT YOUR PHONE MEMORY, THEN CONTACT YOUR SERVICE
PROVIDER FOR INTERNET SETTINGS, THEY WILL SEND YOU THE SETTINGS AFTER
THAT YOU SAVE SETTINGS, IT WILL WORK.
sir you will have to install your PC SUITE in a computer and then copy them into your computer.......i do not think your phone has the option of saving contacts in the memory card.....but it surely can copy them onto a safe place as your computer......

This is what happens. Nokia 3110 hangs, gets switched off and restarts
randomly. More often, it restarts around 3 times or so and then gets switched
off.
Possible Causes and Solutions
Cause 1 - Phone Memory Full - Nokia 3110c mobile phone has
got 9MB of internal memory. Solution - Keep the free space between 350 to 500 KB, so as
to keep things running smoothly on your phone and prevent Nokia 3110c from
restarting. Cause 2 - Changing Themes - Some people have reported that
the phone restarts automatically when they try changing display themes on the
phone. Solution - Don’t get your phone loaded with too many themes
downloaded from the internet or atleast, don’t switch themes frequently. These
themes, mind you, also load up things into your already falling Nokia 3110c
phone memory. Cause 3 - Memory Cards - Some people have reported that
Nokia 3110c restarts due to some issues with the memory card. Solution - Remove the card, get it formatted and then
insert it back and then restore factory settings. This just might solve the
issue. Cause 4 - Transferring data via Blueooth / USB data cable
(or) Updating Music Library - A few people have reported that their Nokia 3110c
mobile phone restarts when updating the music library. Solution - Don’t try updating of music library frequently
or don’t often transfer data in/out of your Nokia 3110c phone. Cause 5 - MP3 files Solution - This may seem dumb, but consider converting all
your MP3 music files to WMA and then store them on the memory card. Some users
suggested this.
