This is a common complaint and computer manufacturers do not recommend the 10 upgrade that was offered for 7&8 system users because of loss of functions issues just like this.. Reload the software from the Apple support site to fix this, hop it works.

Tried to download 50 albums to i tunes library,mp3 files, from dvd by drag and drop. all showing on playlist and also showing all tracks from each album. however none will download to my i pod classic and...

You really should NOT try the "drag and drop" from a DVD - it'll end up making symbolic links ("aliases") to each of the files rather than copying them into the iTunes library. If you click on them in iTunes on your computer WHILE the DVD is mounted they'll probably play, since it can "find" the original files. But your iPod can't "play" them from your DVD, can it? So either COPY all the MP3 files onto your hard drive from the DVD and THEN drag them onto the iTunes "Music" library icon or, instead, in the File menu, select "Add to Library" and select them from there. Oh, and first delete all those dead links with the little grey "x" or question mark by the name in your iTunes music main window to make it easier to tell the new "good" ones you add afterwards (do this with DVD removed).

How do i put songs in my ipod from my laptop.

Hello,

I hope you have I-tunes software and a cable for your I-pod.

Of you don't have I-tunes, you can install i-tunes from I-tunes website: www.apple.com/itunes/

You can get a detailed information on how to put song on your i-pod from the link below.

I wish you good luck.

Sony NW A806 mp3 not registering what is on memory

If i want to make reference to I POD particularly, you know that you don't copy and paste music onto your i pod except through I tunes player if you do, it will only appear as a music file but will not play neither will the i pod see it, maybe that's how they have designed this one too. So what you have to do is check the installation CD it came with(if any) and install it to your system.

Have songs from I tunes, need to transfer to a new I pod.How do we do this?

You should be able to drag the songs from iTunes to your iPod (as long as Manually Manage Music is checkmarked). It will then pop up a dialogue box asking if you would like to authorize. Select yes, type in your apple login info (that you use for iTunes) and voila. Success.
If you are trying to get songs off one iPod and onto another -- you can transfer your entire music library from your iPod to your computer, then use them to populate your library. Then put library on new ipod. All you have to do is enable showing of hidden files and folders (on both mac and pc). The folders titled 00 to 49 will have all your music in random letter names. You'll find em :)

I-pod

Your library needs to be rebuilt to version 8.0 before ITunes will work. Once the database is rebuilt, your songs will reappear in Itunes for use.

Give Itunes the library that your files are in using the folder options. Itunes will rebuild the library off of those settings.

Backup your purchased songs asap.

Grays songs in ipod when connected to Computer

You need to set your iPod to update manually, instead of syncing automatically when you plug it into the computer.

To do this, plug your iPod into your computer, and on the iPod info screen that pops up in iTunes when your iPod is connected, click "Manually Manage Files."
You'll now have to click and drag your songs from your library to your iPod, but now you can also play songs on your computer directly from your iPod and delete songs from your library without deleting them from your iPod at the same time.

Hope this helped!

Ipod nano problem

hello blair,I Have my own I-pod so I hope this will re asure you. First I think you should restore your I tunes as long as your brother has your songs too. Then ask him to create a CD of all your songs, which is not hard at all. then take the CD and open I-Tunes. Place the CD into your hard drive and I-Tunes should pick up the CD. Then download the content of the CD onto I-Tunes. You Will Now have all your songs on I-Tunes like before. Now plug in your I-Pod and continue like It's the first time you have pluged in your i-pod! hope this helps! Rosebetts xxx
