I just used the go back button on my TCL. The screen went blue. I chose source on the remote and chose HDMI 1 on the screen. The screen returned to “normal.”

A tech came by to fix my element tv. "No media device". He said he used source and volume together and my cable came back on.

Check your input source in menu on remote.

You will need to select a sourse.
Your remote should allow you to choose a source .
Most will have an HDMI 1 and or HDMI 2 as well as TV for direct Co Ax cabling.
Once you’re connected to the correct one you should have a media connection

On the remote is the input selection button (DVD, TV, HDMI etc.), select TV or Cable which ever is shown.

Why does message come up no media device
Look in the manual that came with the TV.
It will tell you that you are trying to get a signal from a device that is NOT hooked up to your TV. You probably need to go to 'Input' with your remote, and work it so the 'Input' shows Cable, or Satellite, or DVR or whatever sends the signal to your TV.
The TV is smart enough to know there is no signal coming from the currently selected input.
