Powder detergents are generally the reason for that as they use a clay base to carry the active detergent and it is that base that is the problem
Try using a liquid detergent
next try using a wash bag that you put clothes in to put in the wash as that also stops marks and fluff from getting onto black or dark colored cloths

Testimonial: "i do use liquid detergent and not much i also dilute it with water"

My Samsung top loader washing machine keeps on leaving soap marks on dark clothes The machine model is WA90H4400SS

This is not neccesarly a machine problem. It may be undissolved detergent if you are using powdered detergent or maybe it's just too much detergent. It can also be an overloaded machine. To get rid of the residue, just wash them again after making sure the above issues are resolved.

I can not open the door on my Maytag top loading washer

Many new washer use a lid lock instead of a brake to keep people from reaching into the spinner before it stops. You probably have a
bad lid lock. Have a repair man open the top cover and repair or replace the lid lock.

All my dark clothes have soap deposits on them and clothes seem exceptionally wrinkled when I take them out of the washer.

If load is wrinkled the load may have set in the washer to long it is recommended to remove wash as soon as it stops or the load was too large for the washer capacity. Loads must be balanced and move freely during washing. Also using too much detergent could cause the deposits on clothing. Using an he ( high Efficiency) detergent might help. Using delicate or another cycle with low spin speed will reduce wrinkling.hope this helps

My 3 month old washer suddenly started leaking from underneath. There was a code displayed of a 5d, but the washer drains into a laundry sink, there are no kinks in the input line.

The washer is detecting too much soap. Make sure that you are using HE (high efficiency) soap Do a clean washer or hot cycle once a month with bleach or white vinegar with no clothes in it. Your washer only uses half the water that a regular machine does. The HE is specially designed for front loaders and these types of machines

My towels have musty smell...how do I stop this

I have a front loader and hated the machine for the very same reasons. A one shot fix does not exist but rather requires ongoing treatment (they don't tell you that when you buy the washer though).

Start by getting rid of the existing smell. There are products designed specifically for this problem. One such is "Affresh" but there are others. Most are available at stores that sell the machines and like everything else, on the internet too. Use as directed and once the smell is gone, maintain by using the steps below.

Firstly - discard all non-HE detergents. I know the "regular" detergents are cheaper than the HE counterparts, but these machines are designed for the low-suds type detergents. The "regular" detergents leave a soapy residue because the machine doesn't use nearly as much water as your old top loader and fails to completely rinse out all the soap from the machine (and your clothes, too). So give them to your friends with top loaders instead of using them in your front loader.

Next, run a small load, with bleach and hot water only - no clothes as the last load for the day.

Thirdly, leave the door(s) open on the days not used. This includes any top door for detergents / softeners along with the main front door of the machine between washes. It need not be left w-i-d-e open - but open enough to allow air to circulate and help dry the interior.

Fourth, wipe down the interior after the last load of the day. Pay particular attention to the rubber seal between the drum and the door jamb of the machine - at the bottom where water would collect.

Fifth, stop using fabric softener in the washer. Use a fabric softener dryer sheet instead. Limiting the products added to the washer to just bleach & HE detergents is best.

Sixth, use the washer cleaning product (Affresh etc.) as needed as a preventative step or to head off problems if / when they just begin to become noticeable.

If you follow all of these steps - the offending odors can be eliminated and prevented.

I hope this was very helpful and good luck!

When my Maytag bravos washer starts to wash cycle it stops with an F 51 code. it dose it every time it agates

Cause: suds. The wrong detergent or the wrong amount of detergent, makes the motor overheat.
Why? In my opinion when suds are detected the program needs to make them go away for fear the clothes won't be clean. So the program makes the motor do extra work to try and fix the problem. The poor washer motor gets worked to death because the water ain't right. This washer is designed to work with a small amount of water. Only a tiny amount of soap is needed to do the job. Put a cup of detergent in there and the machine is gonna constantly run way past time to be done just to get rid of the detergent. This causes the machine to overwork the motor and destroy the rotor position sensor.

We have an Aquasmart top loader and our clothes, mainly dark items, are being covered by a scum after washing. We have put the machine through the clean cycle, but this has not made any difference.

I have found with my aquasmart that if you use the 'high efficiency' the water does not cover the clothes sufficiently which is why the soap residue (noticeable more on dark clothes) is visible. I don't use high efficiency. even on conventional sometimes I still have to check that the water level is high enough. Also **use only liquid, low sudsing detergent and do not put it on the clothes-use the dispenser only. As for my machine... Time for the repair man to check the sensing I think

Odors on the clothes after washing in Maytag front loader

The brand of your front loader is not that material on this issue. What is happening is that your old top load washer may have used as much as 45 gallons of water per cycle, while some front loaders use as little as 12. Because of the low water use, you must cut back on the additives you are using. Use only 1 tablespoon of HE detergent (even less if 2x or 3x detergent) per load. If you use fabric softener, use only 1 teaspoon per load. Odor on clothes after wash is indicating that the detergent and or softener has not been fully rinsed out. If you throw a load of washed towels into your machine and start a cycle without any soap, then stop the cycle, you should not see any suds. If you do, there is obviously soap left in the clothes. With bath towels, the towels are used to absorb clean water off a clean body. They do not need soap when you wash them, and never use fabric softener on towels.
