It's normal since your phone still locked for particular network. To unlock blackberry 7290 network you will be need a blackberry unlock code and you can obtained that code from your network provider or purchased at third parties sites.
I am quite late in helping you but my information might help you in the future. If you want to unlock your blackberry, then I would recommend you Blackberry unlocking codes with IMEI. They are very reliable, CHEAPEST and provide good customer support service. Good luck!
hi,
i'm a business traveler and travel to a lot of foreign countries , in my experience unlock codes
are the very best method to unlock Blackberry phone , i used unlock codes procured from http://www.unlocking4u.com/
to unlock my phones and it worked wonderfully well
I am actually unsure what could have caused this. It might not be unlocked correctly or could have been damaged when the software was modified. But T-Mobile carried the BB7290 so if you can get ahold of the person who unlocked it for you I would ask for a branded T-Mobile phone.
You need to get it unlocked either by doing a search for unlocking blackberry 7290 and paying one of the online services.
Service providers will unlock their phones as well just tell them your traveling abroad and you need to unlock the phone. Otherwise if it is not affiliated with a service provider you will most likely have to pay someone to get you unlock code.
I do apologize but in order to unlock that phone you will need to either call the provider it was from and tell them your traveling abroad if you are currently with the provider or know someone who is they should be able to unlock it.
Otherwise you will have to pay for the unlock online. Sorry I have searched high and low for software I can use to unlock multiple phones and I have yet to fine it for the blackberries.
BlackBerry 7290 from any network can be unlocked easily using a remote IMEI unlock code, also called MEP unlock code. Here is a link to get the code and unlock your BlackBerry 7290 within seconds. Excellent customer and technical support, and you can pay using Paypal or credit card by phone. Excellent prices as well! Hope this helps!
Like you being with T-mobile, I bought a cingular phone off ebay that wasn't unlock. My sims didn't work either. My network just said call Cingular which is now AT&T and they gave me the MEP code to unlock it. Beware, you need to confirm all of your information from your network before they will help you.
