If the system uses a remote control, you may need to adjust the subwoofer out signal setting or turn on the sub in a menu, and on many systems, you can only access those settings via a remote control (you should check the onkyo user manual on how to do it).

Now, this is just one suggestion, it may work, but then again, it may not.

These could also be connection problems or some internal trouble in the onkyo sub signal output section or in the subwoofer input section, but hopefuly, it's just a "turn on" or "signal level" setting in a menu.

Good luck

Can i hook up my bose model ps38 powered sub to onkyo reciever

Why not. A speaker system should work with anything that produced sound meant for a speaker.
Don't you think?
find the woofer out on the onkyo and connect the bose sub-woofer there.
Seems pretty simple. If you don't think so, go hide in a closet.

Why Onkyo HTS-9400THX: Front both and subwoofer not working.?

Try differnt speakers, if they do not produce sound, amp channels may be blown and then you need to take it to a shop.

HI I BOUGHT HT-S6300 3D-Ready Home Theater System 2 DAYS BEFORE. MY SUB-WOOFER IS NOT WORKING. NO SOUND IS COMING OUT EVEN BLUE LIGHT IS ON. I HAVE CHECKED SPEAKER CONFIGURATION, AND IT GIVES SOUND TO ALL...

Check your owners manual. You will probably have to activate the sub woofer outlet, using the remote. This outlet can usually be programmed to do more than one function.

I just replaced the cord running from the sub to the dvd player. now my sub will not turn on

hi,
steps to trouble shoot for sub-woofer detection :
1. please check whether the cord is securely connected at both the ends.
2. check if there is transmission through the cord (there'll be a small static through the cord if there is transmission.)
3. reset the dvd-player to default audio-output and then choose the 5.1 sound system which is the correct setting for the th-c6.
4. also check the settings in the th-c6 whether it is in 5.1 mode(whether it includes the woofer-as it can also simple use the stereo speakers)
5. now check the sound output in all speakers by playing any original home-theatre system enabled dvd.

the system will work perfectly if the cord is in good condition, otherwise please replace the cord again, and this time check it at the store.
cheers

Gurus, I just bought Samsung Home Theater System which i connected to my Hitachi TV with HDMI cable. I have a Optical Cable going from HT to my TV Optical port. I have another connection from my cable

On the remote control for the Samsung Home Theater System look at the bottom left to a button that says "MODE", those moods change the sound each speaker gives off. if that doesn't work, you might need new wiring because there are other wires that are more durable than the ones that come with it, much better too.

I have no sound coming from home theatre system

I would check see if you can hear any hissing coming from the speakers if there's no sound then check to see if this product has output protection fuses and if so see if they are in tact if this doesn't solve the problem you may have dead outputs. If there is hissing coming from the speakers check your audio source to make sure it is feeding sound to your amplifier without looking its hard to say in these case's there's a lot to go wrong

Installation Help

This means that you have purchased a three piece home theatre system. Two tweeters and a sub-woofer. Assuming you are using a Stereo player (Tape/CD/DVC)you have to connect the Left Output of the Stereo placer to the Left Input at the back of the Sub-Woofer and the Right output to the Right input of the subwoofer by cables. Then take tweeters and connect them to Right speaker and Left speaker output at the back of the sub-woofer ( note if the speakers are marked L/R, then connect them to the subwoofer output accordingly. In case you are using a 5.1 player, then only connect the front right and front left to the Right and Left input at the back of the subwoofer. You are and you can now start playing your music or movies and and you will get theatre quality sound.
