How to connect cd player to my Yamaha RX-V733

You did respond to the question above and advised to connect to audio in. I don't have an audio in, is there a substitute for that? I have audio out and zone 2 out. I have AV out, audio 1 and audio 2; I have AV5 & AV6. This is a surround sound system.

If the RX-733 is similar to the RX-773 then the Audio 1 and Audio 2 ports are audio inputs on the AV receiver. The AV 5 and AV 6 ports are for composite audio/video connections.

I hope this helps.

My CD NO HDMI WILL NOT PLAY THRU MY RX-V372 Yamaha RECIEVER with HDMI . So I tried to use rca plugs & no help must have made mistake. Can u help

Based on the information provided, it seems that the CD player is not compatible with the HDMI input on the Yamaha RX-V372 receiver. This is likely due to the fact that the CD player does not have an HDMI output.

In order to play the CD player through the receiver, you will need to use analog RCA cables. Make sure that you have connected the RCA cables to the correct inputs on both the CD player and the receiver. The CD player should be connected to one of the analog audio inputs on the receiver, such as "CD" or "Aux". Once you have connected the cables, select the appropriate input on the receiver using the input selector knob or button.

It is also possible that there may be an issue with either the CD player or the receiver. If you continue to experience problems, try testing each component separately to determine where the issue lies.

In summary, if your CD player does not have an HDMI output, you will need to use analog RCA cables to connect it to your Yamaha RX-V372 receiver. Make sure that you have connected the cables correctly and selected the appropriate input on the receiver.

How do I hook up a Yamaha eq-70 to a Yamaha RX-661 recvr?

Hi Tony mucci, to connect your Yamaha EQ-70 equalizer to the RX-661, you must use two double RCA RCA cables and the Line IN connection of the EQ-70, you go to the RX-661 MD / CD-R Rec connection and the Line Out connection of the EQ-70 you go to the MD / CD-R Play of the RX-661
This equalizer will work with the analog audio signals, but not with the digital ones
I hope you can connect it
Greetings Franco Dosil

Saludos Franco Dosil

Yamaha RX-V733 again. I am using HDMI cable connection between receiver and cd player. My question is where do I connect the HDMI cable on the receiver.

You use audio cables or fiber optic cables if the receiver has the necessary connections. HDMI is not used for cd to receiver.

How do I connect my Yamaha RX-V733 to cd player?

Assuming the CD player has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, get a 3.5mm to RCA audio connector. Put the 3.5mm plug into the headphone jack at the back of your CD player (or audio out if that's what it's labeled) and attach the white end of the RCA jack to the white connector in the Phono at the back of your Yamaha RX-V33 and the red end to the red RCA connector just below it in the same Phono area.

Switch the Yamaha to "Phono" and start the CD player. You should hear things now.

How do I connect my Yamaha RX-V733 to a CD Player?

I don't see a RX-V733 on Yamaha's site. However, look for a stereo audio input on the receiver. Then use the appropriate audio cable or adapter for the CD player audio out.

Depending on the CD player, you should use either an RCA M/M to RCA M/M (red/white) audio cable or a 3.5 mm headphone to RCA stereo audio cable. (If you don't have a headphone to RCA stereo audio cable, you can use adapters on either side. Examples: 3.5 mm M to RCA F/F adapter to RCA audio cable as above or 3.5 mm M/M cable to 3.5 mm F to RCA M/M audio adapter, depending on which cable you want to use and where you connect the adapter.) After making this connection, turn on the CD player, select the appropriate input.

The connection for an external audio device (like a CD player) is shown on page 31 of the manual for the RX-V773. Even if this is a slightly different model, the image may help. The manual is available from Yamaha on the product page: http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/rx-v773_g/?mode=model . Click on the Support tab. The direct link to the manual is http://download.yamaha.com/api/asset/file/?language=en&site=au.yamaha.com&asset_id=54075 .

I hope this helps.

How can I connect my Yamaha RX-V463 Receiver to the internet in order to install the Firmware update? Is there an adapter for this?

No there is not as to update the firmware you need to change internal boards and finding a source for them now is difficult
then connect a CD player via the optical input and put the downloaded firmware on a CD
Take a look at the following link

No sound from my Yamaha YST-SW315 subwoofer. When I run the test speakers don't have sound either. Not sure if its the subwoofer or the Yamaha RX-V450 receiver

Feed it with an RCA cable any other audio device you may have (CD, TV, MP3 player, PC) to prove it can or can not woof. It will respond to any audio, not just LFE or subwoofer audio.

Static when connecting more than one audio input to amplifier

OK. Both are attached via analog cables to different inputs so what you're hearing is NOT actually audio program-related but more likely some kind of grounding or shielding issue.

Lower the volume then see what happens if you...

...float the laptop so it's running on its battery?

...reattach the laptop power but rotate the AC power plug 180 degrees?

...rotate the CD power connector?

...disconnect only the laptop audio?

...disconnect only the CD audio?

Something should change the symptom.
