My machine is singer 7422 Model sewing machine
Hello Gargi Sarkar
The power supply voltage in India is between 220 V and 240 V. Your machine will be ruined if you plug it directly into the power supply in India. There are two options:
1. Use a step down adaptor to 'reduce' the 220 - 240 V to 110V which is what your machine can handle. This may be more practical and economical AND you can use the step-down adaptor for other Canadian electronics.
2. Your sewing machine motor can be changed for a 220 - 240 V motor, but often other parts will need to be changed as well. Also more costly.

SOURCE: How many Watts does my machine have?
Watts is Current ( listed in Amps and normally shown on a tag of some sort on your machine ) times Voltage ( 120Vac) so if you had
For example.. if it listed 10A as in 10 amps @ 120 V then you would have 10 x 120 or 1200 watts.. This should get you in the ballpark.. If you can provide the exact model number of your machine.. I couold get the specs on it and give you a better answer.. Hope that helps...
SOURCE: One step button Hole V for Singer Sewing Machine
Hi, I had the same problem, but I finally found my manual. The solution is that you have to use the presser foot for buttonholes but the most important part is that you have to lower the buttonholer lever. It is located right next to the needle to the left. It is a metal lever with a little square white plastic end. You need to pull that down in order the the buttonhole feature to work. My button was too big for the buttonhole presser foot, so I had to use the regular presser foot, but hit the buttonhole lever with my had to make it go up or down.
SOURCE: Beeping Sewing Machine
Your problem is most certainly with the buttonhole switch. Firstly: Look if the buttonhole lever, left back of machine, is push up in position. The beeping sound is a warning message. Secondly Remove the light cover, left of the machine, loosen back screw and remove left hand screw completely. Check for a small black electric switch, follow the brown and green elecrtic wire, just back of the light. If you push the BH lever up and down the switch finger should also move up and down. If it stays down, the machine will not work and give a beeping sound. If the switch finger is stuck, push it up with the BH in top position. Hope this will help you

I've been looking high and low to see if I could find you one for free, but I can not.
You'll have to contact Singer to get a replacement instruction manual. They cost around $10.
I'm sorry I couldn't find you one for free.
Hope this helps. =)
