SOURCE: Calibration Mode for nordic track treadmill model
Hello there, The calibration mode for a nordictrack is as follows.
With the safety key out, hold the stop and speed up arrow at the same time while inserting the key. Release the buttons. You will then be in diagnostics.
You then press the stop button one time.
If you are trying to calibrate the incline you just need to hit the incline up button and the machine will do an incline calibration. The unit should go all the way to the top and return to the bottom when completed.
If you need to calibrate the speed you will need to press and hold the speed up button on the console until the display reads 85. The machine should then be running at its maximum speed (either 10 or 12 mph depending on the unit)
The display will show a speed on the console and should be within .3 of the maximum speed.
If it is not then it will need to be adjusted using a potentiometer on the control pwb.
To access the control pwb open the hood cover. Should be 3 screws in the rear of the cover and 2 screws on the bottom of the unit.
Once inside the cover locate the control pwb. On the control pwb there will be a yellow/orange potentiometer. This is the adjusting part.
Use a non-metallic phillips head screw driver to adjust the potentiometer either clockwise for faster or counterclockwise for slower.
Hope this helps!
Good Luck! Tim

Probably 85% of the time, it's the sensor.
1. remove the screws from the bottom of the enclosure case. 2 or 3 in the front and 1 on each side
lay it back down, and power it up, and actuate your incline. watch the end of the motor, to see if the shaft is moving. It probably IS turning but only a little bit. NOT enough. In this case I'd say it is the sensor.
2. Unplug the unit of course.
3. the incline motor is in the middle of the pack,..you'll see a black tube looking thing sticking up.
4. on the bottom side of this, you will see,..or feel for a black square sensor attached to bottom of the motor casing.
5. follow the wires and unplug this.
6. pry it off with a screw driver. Remove incline assembly, if you cannot reach it.
7. replace sensor and try it again.
if the MOTOR does NOT turn when using the incline buttons, the problem backs up to possibly a bad control board. or a bad motor on your incliner, however, i'd say that's the last thing to go.
Order of failure: 1. sensor 2. control board 3. motor.
good luck
SOURCE: I have a Nordic Track treadmill C1800. When first
You have 1,2 or maybe 3 problems. 1st is you need to remove the cover over the motor. The belt that the motor turns may be slipping. You need to loosen the bolt that keeps the tension on the drive belt. Push down to tighten manually and then tighten bolt. While your in there you should check the drive belt for wear. If you have used the treadmill a lot it may need replacement. $20 from readmilldocter.com The walking belt if badly worn can be replaced for like $99 but probably is fine. put all back together and tighten tension. Should be able to lift walking belt 3 to 4 inches from center sides. Any less and its too tight. Its probably better to just replace the drive belt anyway. This should work. Do not over tighten ever. This is the cause of most problems.

I am not familiar with that exact model, but it sounds like either the mechanism for lowering/raising is broken or it's off the track. Did you take it to its maximum height when this happened? If so, the teeth might be out of alignment.

o The Nordic Track C2050 allows users to change the incline of the treadmill with a simple touch of a button. This treadmill features both increase and decrease buttons for the incline. The incline of the machine will change by .5 percent every time the buttons are pressed. With each press on the incline buttons, the machine will take a moment to actually reach the incline setting that was just selected.
Capacity of Weight
o Users who are larger than or weigh more than the average person will be pleased with the added capacity of weight that the Nordic Track C2050 allows. Unlike most treadmills in its economy class that only allow a weight limit of 200 to 250 pounds, this model lets users who weigh as much as 300 pounds use the machine safely. Larger people can get the benefits of a cardiovascular workout on this treadmill without worrying about damaging it.
Heart Rate Measurement
o This Nordic Track model allows users to measure their heart rate. All the machine requires is for users to place their feet on its foot rails and grasp the metal contacts with their hands. The Nordic Track C2050 then works to determine your pulse, and the symbol of a heart will eventually show up in the display. After a couple of dashes show up, your heart rate will be displayed. Users who want to be certain of getting an accurate reading should ensure their hands are clean when gripping the metal contacts.
sincerely. God bless you.
