SOURCE: Treadmill runs then stops. E1 error and sometimes works fine.

Yes if speed sensor is too far from magnet it will not pick up belt movement. This confuses the computer and as a safety precaution it shuts the machine off. Find speed sensor and check for proper alighment with magnet.

Error 1 - Start up error. This is caused because the belt was commanded to move and the opto (speed sensor on the motor) has not seen any movement or the belts movement was interrupted prior to it reaching its commanded speed. To fix Verify opto operation in Diagnostics, Motor Test
Mode, Section 2. Verify DC voltage at connector P6 pins 1 and 2. Verify that LED 4 on the Motor Controller flashes as the motor moves. Let me know if you need any more help. Fitness Fix-It

Lifespan Pro3 - treadmill E1 error message

Hello

yes, your correct this could be the lower board with the issue.
The lower board could have blown a fuse, which you can check and replace quite easily. If the fuse is good look for other burnt spots on the board. The lower board may need repairing/replacing.
If the machine stopped while in use (after about 10min) then you will have a few other problems to check. Try adding silicone spray under the belt and if this has already been done then the running belt may need replacing.

E1 is never a good thing...

Bladez prisma treadmill error e1 replaced lower control board and speed sensor

I will answer my own problem here, maybe it will help someone else. After BH North America customer service told me I needed a new lower control board and I had to spend $100+, it wasn't the board. Then they said it was the speed sensor, they sent that out for free, that wasn't it. Now, they would not respond to me. So, we went off the troubleshooting guide saying it was a connection problem between the upper and lower board. My husband opened up the "leg" of the treadmill and checked the connections (cutting the tie cords that hold the wires tightly in place, maybe too tightly and that's what caused them to come unplugged) and now the belt runs! So, BH got another 100 dollars of my money, on top of the original $800 and solved nothing and then ignored my emails. Horrible customer service and when this one finally bites the dust, I will never purchase a machine from them again. P.S. This treadmill is only approx. 2 yrs old.

Trimmaster 360HR .

An E1 error code is a very broad code. It is important to know when the E1 occurs and what was being done when it occurred. An E1 code just means that the console is not getting a reading from the reed switch (Speed Sensor). If the running belt moves for several minutes and then produces the E1 error, this is most commonly a result of the running belt needing lubrication. The motor control board will shut down due to the motor pulling too much current, triggering a safety shut down. It is important to maintain a proper lubrication schedule for your treadmill. The lubrication frequency will vary depending on the model, please refer to the lubrication instructions in the owner's manual. When lubricating be sure to use a 100% silicone non-aerosol treadmill lubricant, applying 1-oz.
After lubricating the running belt, if you still continue to have problems or it returns after just a few weeks, the running belt may have become glazed. This is a term used that describes the pores on the underside of the running belt closing due to excess friction. When this occurs, the running belt can no longer absorb lubrication. In this instance you may need to replace the running belt as continued use can lead to damage of other components such as the motor and the motor control board.
If the running belt stops after 6 seconds of starting the treadmill, this may indicate that either the speed sensor needs adjusting/replacing or the main wire harness is damaged.
If there is no belt movement, or you notice a burning smell coming from the motor area, this may be an indication that the motor or motor control board has become damaged. Without lubrication, continued use can cause damage to the motor and/or the motor control board which may require replacing of these components. If needing to replace either of these components, it will likely be necessary to replace the running belt as well. Doing so will prevent friction from damaging the newly installed components or other components in the machine.

After 10 seconds running my horizon fitness (quantum ii) , it stop suddently with the E1 code error, what can 1 do to fix-it

Hello,

The E1 error code is the reed switch signal is not making it to the motor controler. Or that the controler is bad.

Unplug the treadmill and hook it back up, remove the motor hood and check the motor controler for a red light, it should remian lit without flashing, showing the unit has power. When you press the speed buttons, the light should start flashing, then the drive motor should start driving the walk belt. Watch the red light to see if it stops flashing when the belt stops. It should. Does the treadmill read speed and distance before it quits? If so, it most likley is a heavy draw on the drive motor causing too much restistance, which shuts the controler down.

Hope this helps.
Matt
