On the bizhub C550 an error code C0204..... won't let me use paper tray 2

Tray 2 Feeder UP/Down abnormality.
2nd Tray Lift-up motor (M9) is problematic.

PULL out the second tray remove any and all paper from behind the draw also REMOVE all the STORED paper on the left hand side of the draw that is not a storage area. Storage draw is used. The space is for if you decide to 11x17 paper

The error code C0204 deals with the first paper tray not lifting up correctly. What you can do is to turn the copier off and pull out all of the paper trays and turn back On. Once it is warmed up, push one tray in at a time to see which one codes out. To resolve the problem, there could be a piece of paper jammed behind the paper tray or if you have LTR size paper in the tray, do you have paper on both sides of the tray. Remove the paper from the left side of the paper tray or you may have to take the paper tray out to get to the piece of paper wadded behind the paper tray.... Good Luck

C0204 is an error to tell u that behind the tray 2, you'll have a paper that satyed after a jam. remove the paper, and push the interrupter ON/OFF. it will solve the pb.

Tray 2 elevator failure. Something is wrong with the paper lifting in tray 2. Most common cause is improperly loaded paper in the tray so I would check that first. If you can't find any issues with tray 2 then you can leave it open an inch or two and reset the code so you can still use the copier. Then have a tech look at the tray as you could have a lift motor or lift sensor going bad.

C0204 as I see you already know is a tray 2 elevator failure. Meaning the machine does not see tray 2 lifting up the paper. This is usually caused by improper paper loading, elevator sensor failure or lift motor failure. You can still use the copier/printer if you leave tray 2 open and inch or 2. Just use the other trays until repairs can be made.

Pull out the trays, locate the metal tab on the copier frame that is held in with one screw. Remove the screw and angle the tray out.

C0204 - Tray 2 Elevator failure - The Lift-Up Sensor is not blocked even after the lapse of a given period of time after the lifting motion has been started.

1. Turn OFF the Main Power Switch.
2. Turn Main Power Switch ON while pressing the Utility/Counter key.
3. Touch [Trouble Reset].
4. Check to make sure that [OK] is displayed and the it has been reset.
5. After turning off the Main Power Switch, turn it on again more than 10 seconds after and check if the machine starts correctly.
