Change your wireless mode to either 802.11g or 802.11.n, do not use 802.11b&802.11g&802.11n option.

Router keeps dropping signal. I have to constantly unplug it and restart it. Reset button doesn't work. Yes, mi Internet connection is OK, I've checked it with my phones and by connecting the computer...

Hi ,

I got your issue, Since your router keeps dropping the connection , the best fix is to update the firmware on the router. Here is the link,

http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/306/session/L3NpZC9DRXppQW1maw%3D%3D/kw/f5d8236/r_id/166/sno/1

You have 4 different firmware version, select the appropriate version for Eg: If your version number of the router is ver:3000 then download v 3xxx and update the firmware on the router , that it will fix your issue.

Prema.

My belkin N router always disconnects on the internet. im sure its not a modem issue coz when i try to restart my router its connected again to the internet. my belkin router model is f5d8233-4v3....

Disconnections are generally relative to the Internet Provider and Speed. If the speed drops, the router can disconnect and reboots. Just make certain you always update all drivers and especially if you are in Windows, keep up with current updates. Check your device drivers and do update from there also.

I have a Belkin F5D8233-4v3 router. I can get just one wired port to work. I use both wireless and wired connections. Could this be a hardware or software problem?

That's a fairly new router, you shouldn't be having those issues. Make sure you're identifying the uplink port, the quickstart guide with router should help with that.

If everything is wired correctly, it could be either firmware of hardware. Might want to try calling Belkin or even where you bought it from to see if you can exchange. Sounds like you got a defective unit. Alternately, try going to Belkin's website and downloading and installing the latest firmware for the router. If that doesn't do it, then you have a hardware failure, and Belkin should owe you a new router, that router claims a lifetime warranty.

There is a new firmware v4, sounds like you have v3, check here:

My Belin Router won't connect to my desk top computer when I turn my computer on. I have to unplug my Belkin Router and wait awhile and then plub it in again. Sometimes I have to unplug the route 3-5 times...

You can simply update the firmware of the router if it keeps dropping your internet connection. Download the latest firmware from Belkin website and install it. Now the trick is you need to hard reset the router before and after you update the firmware. To hard reset it, press and hold the reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds. After that unplug the power. Wait for another 30 seconds before you plug it back in.

Belkin router firmware malfunction

It is recommended to perform a hard reset after updating the firmware of the router. I guess you haven't done it that's why your connection keeps dropping. To hard reset the router, press the reset button at the back of the router for 20 seconds then unplug the power for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
