Just purchased dirt devil duo. After only using a few minutes it shuts down and you have to wait at least 30 minutes for it to start again. At this it will take me a week just to sweep my living room.

It is probably the thermal sensor which shuts the vacuum off it gets hot. It will come back on when it cools down. Replace all the filters as they are probably. Restricting the airflow
Hi there! If the trigger or valve are sticking this can be an indication that the valve may be clogged with soap residue. Try soaking the trigger end in warm water for a few hours. When you use the hose again, be sure to prime the trigger by pumping it about 30 times then squeezing it for 30 seconds to get the solution to flow. Hope this helps!
Hi there! The vacuum is equipped with a thermal protector sensor that will automatically shut the motor down if it reaches a certain temperature. This is usually caused by either a clog or a filter that needs to be cleaned or replaced. Make sure you check both the hoses for clogs and clean all filters properly. If a filter is really dirty it may be time to replace it. Hope this was helpful!
It's overheating. Empty the cup and replace the filters. There's a breaker that opens up and turns it off when it gets too hot. When it cools down it closes back up and it will run again. It'll argue with you til the end of time or until you fix the problem.
Try running the battery all the way down by letting the vacume run in a corner or another room and even when it stops leave it on for a hour to drain the battery. Then shut the switch off and try charging the battery. Make sure the charger is putting out enough volts by looking at the rated output of the charger and while it is plugged in check it with a volt meter. If it does not hold a charge and the charger is putting out the right voltage you need to purchase a new battery for the vacume
Hi Cassidy. You are probably right about the motor overheating. The usual cause for overheating is a clog some where on the bottom of the machine. Check for anything that could be blocking the dirt fro going into the bag. Hope this helps Chris
your motor in the vacum is getting hot.Thats why it shuts off.Its fitted with a shut off switch to stop you doing any damage to it.1 The reason for getting to hot is that you are filling the cannister to full.Try emptying it half.good luck.
