Popping sounds from plasma tv's are almost always caused by a blown sustain board ( Y,Z, or both). It could be a main power supply also. Have a technician check it out.

Samsung plasma Model PN60E8000GFXZA not turning on just clicking, TV was on and we heard a loud pop, tv went to a black screen with no sound. when we turn on tv no picture, no sound, any suggestions

Plasma TV'S contain many capacitors and TV manufacturers us substandard quality capacitors to make these TV'S affordable to the general public. If one of these capacitors goes out the TV will no longer turn on. If you feel comfortable removing the panels from the TV you can look at the circuit boards and find the capacitor(s) that have went bad. They will either be burned or the top of them will be burst open or bulging. From your description you will probably have one that will be burst open. If you know how to solder electric components this is a very cheap and easy fix. A TV repair man will charge quite a bit to do this.

Samsung 60 plasma T.V. made a loud bang and wont turn on now.

That sounds pretty terminal I am afraid. First thing to check would be the fuse in the mains plug. After that it will need dismantling for any other fixes. If the fuse is ok, then I would start by opening the case up and looking for anything that looks blackened. Start on the pcb that connects to the mains cable.

You will need the y and x sustain boards replaced, possibly the buffers. very expensive repair. you can replace one board but its best to do all of them.

LG 50" plasma tv

call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.
