I have a star cruiser 7610 treadmill. the incline has stopped functioning. how do i fix it

Precor Error E2, Lift Error Probable Cause Error would occur if the incline is unable to move or if the incline position potentiometer is not functioning. When this error occurs, all lift motor and drive motor motion is ceased and the display will go blank except for the error displayed.

This sounds as though the motor is bad, they cost around $130.00, ther is a n electronic controller that controls it, but as it is trying to raise I would think that the switch and controller are functioning. Best of luck and please post back f this helps.

Check the power cord to ensure it is connected to the power supply and the treadmill if the power does not stay on or does not turn on. Look at the circuit breaker, located near the base of the unit, to see if the circuit was tripped. Push the switch back in to reset the circuit.

2 Take the key out of the console, wait a minute and place it back in the console to resolve issues with the power turning on and off during use or if the console displays are not functioning properly.

3 Remove the console key and press the "Stop" button to turn off the "Demo" mode, which is often the default setting when the treadmill is first purchased.

4 Reset the incline by holding down the "Stop" and "Speed increase" buttons and putting in the console key. Release the buttons and then press the "Stop" button, followed by the down or up arrows for the incline. This step can be taken if errors are occurring with the incline function.

5 Turn the treadmill "Off" and unplug the unit if errors continue. Wait five minutes and then plug the unit back on, insert the console key, and turn the treadmill "On." This will reset the treadmill and should return to normal funcTION

First I was unable to identiy your model. Star Trac makes 'S Series' treadmills and Pro Tread DC (5500 Pro S model) treadmills. Can you be more specific on your model?

Second. I have used Star Trac customer service in the past and they are the best. They are responsive, and knowledgeable, and will provide troubleshooting flowcharts to help you solve your problem. I highly recommend giving them a call.

ProForm Treadmills have a reset procedure for the incline function. With the key inserted in the console, activate the incline; while the incline is changing, remove the key. Wait 30 seconds, then replace the key. The incline should to maximum, then to minimum, resetting its limits. It worked for mine just 10 minutes ago; the procedure is in the manual if you have it.
