SOURCE: keyboard & Mouse

Hi,
Make sure that the keyboard wire is plugged in to the keyboard port and mouse wire is plugged in to the mouse port. Remember that you need to restart the system once after you plugged into the motherboard. if that doesn't work then replace the keyboard / mouse and check. if same thing is happening then there is a problem in your motherboard. Thank you.

SOURCE: Keyboard not working

For a cheap solution, have you tried plugging in a regular keyboard?

Likely, the real problem is a loose ribbon cable under the keyboard. It is a bit messy to open open a laptop. So, if you can get by with an external keyboard, it might be the best solution.

It has been a while since I opened an IBM/Lenovo. Some laptops are easier than others to replace the keyboard.

The key board has lost its connection, please help. we hve tryed new batterys. the mouse still works.

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like you"ve lost the connection between your keyboard and reciever, that little angled piece with a button you press and lights up. First double check connection on your computer for this reciever, Then double check intsatlation of batteries in keyboard. NOW, press button on reciever, now press button under mouse and wait 20 seconds now press button on reciever then press button under keyboard. This should do it.
