10 wire dometic to 6 wire digital honeywell thermostat

  • Brad Brown Feb 07, 2017

Hi Righter Shiner, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? IT would be easier to know what you are wiring the Honeywell to, rather than convert the existing wires because dometic makes a lot of thermostats so I need model numbers on both thermostats and the HVAC unit

SOURCE: Honeywell digital thermostat won't turn off ac.

The Honeywell CT87 thermostat is a normal round thermostat, not digital and may have a sub-base installed with it that has a two switches on it. One is for Fan (Auto or On)and the other is for Heat, Cool and Off. Make sure the Fan switch is in the Auto position and the other switch is in either the Cool or Off mode. If you continue to get cooling, you have a short in the thermostat wire or a stuck relay in th indoor or outdoor unit. To test this, while the unit is running; remove the round outer ring on the thermostat by pulling it straight off towards you. You will find 3 slotted head screws that hold the thermostat to the sub-base. These screws are located at the 3 o'clock, 7 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions. Turn these screws counterclockwise with a small head screwdriver. They are held in place so should not fall and get lost. With the front of the thermostat removed from the base, the air conditioner should stop running. If the unit continues to run, you will need to have your A/C system inspected by a technician. If in fact your thermostat is digital, look to see how it is mounted to its sub-base and remove it. If the system stops, you may have a bad thermostat or the Fan switch is in the On position. Hopefully this will help.

SOURCE: Honeywell Thermostat power light

I just had this happen to me a few days ago. I hope you find this response before you did what I did and paid an AC guy $103 for him to do about 5 minutes worth of work. Here goes.

The power is shutting off because your drip line is clogged. Your drip line is the tubing that goes from your compressor (inside) to the outside of your house. When that tube gets clogged up (with algae and dirt) then the water will backup in the line. There is a protection circuit in the line and when it detects water (because of a backup) then it shuts all power to the AC off. If you take a shop vac outside and **** all the **** out then you'll be fine. The AC guy said that when I replace my filter every month that I need to pour about 1/2 cup of bleach in the line (from the inside) to prevent algae from forming and stopping the pipe up. Hope this helps someone out there before it costs them a $100.

I am upgrading an analog thermostat to the dometic 3313189 thermostat. My question - how will i connect the present 6 wire to the new 3 wire

Do have AC? if you do you have to by a thermostat that can handle both heating and cooling, if you only have 3 terminals it must be a heat only thermostat.

Does dometic rooftop rv air conditioner work with wall Honeywell thermostat

Yes if proper model and wired properly. Some systems are 12VDC and some are 24VAC, so be sure to find that out and match accordingly.

How do i wire analog thermostat to digital

You need to get a different thermostat.you can change an analog thermostat to digital, but you have to replace the motherboard with a digital compliant one. You can't just change the thermostat. Your best bet is to put back the old thermostat or upgrade to a different compatable thermostat

I am replacing a 10 year old Honeywell Thermostat with a mercury switch with a new programable digital Honeywell OS#RTH7500D1007 MD 0638. There a 4 wires coming out of the wall and are installed on the old...

You are on the right track, you can hook the same 4 wires to the new thermostat without the jumper you had on the old thermostat. The jumper wire that is on the new thermostat can stay with no problems. Just connect the wires to the same terminals on the new one and your good to go!
