Duplex mode, paper retracted and DISAPPEARED!

Feeding from the top, back paper feed. First side printed OK. The first sheet went OK, the second sheet had a bent corner and I hit cancel, the third sheet printed first side and paper retracted. I saw the paper retract and it did not reappear. The entire 8 1/2 x 11 piece is in there somewhere. I have opened all known orifices including the top where the ink reservoirs will not now appear, the back and the bottom and I see nothing. the message simply is "Paper jammed, remove and press OK"

For duplex the paper feeds into the bottom paper tray, you need to make sure that paper is not stuck in the bottom area.

Why printer 4515 this error MANUALLY FEED OUTPUT STACK for duplex pritnting

HP P4515n is not a duplex printer by default. It is a network printer. ('n' suggests it is a network printer. Duplex printers have 'd' in the model number).
If you want to print both sides, manually feed sheet by sheet. Or else you can do the following:
If you are using, say MS Word, print only the odd pages (Print the normal way. No need to manually feed paper). Then arrange the printed papers in the proper order and keep the printed side as back side. Insert the set of papers in the printer and print only the even pages.
First print a document of about 6 pages to get the hang of it.

Which way do I insert the transparency into my front loading MP 560 Canon Printer.Shiny side up or down Thank you V

It depends on which side you want to print on. For transparencies, you want to print on one side only. Most likely, you want to print on the shiny side; essentially as if it were a glossy photo. Load the transparency so that the shiny side gets printed on. Don't know that part? Front loading printers are the easiest to determine which side is printed on. Look at where the paper goes in and where it comes out. Think about it; for single sided printing, the paper isn't being turned around inside; merely rolled around an internal roller, then back out. Watch what happens to the paper the next time you print on a single side. See if the top of the printed page came out first, or last.

The most common designs of front-loaders have the paper come out above where it went in. The paper curls around the bottom of the internal roller and comes right back out on top. Therefore, the printed side started out on the bottom, then curled around the internal roller and came out with the printed side up.

Most front loading printers have the top of the printed page come out first; therefore, the same edge that went in first, got printed on first. With that in mind, if you ever want to print on the unprinted side of a piece of paper (that is already out of the printer), obviously keep the printed side up, but since the top of the printed side came out first, you need to make sure the top goes in first to come out first for the back side.

Your Canon 560 printer has duplex printing, so it is a good idea to run your test to see what happens when printed on a single side, and what happens if you use the duplex-mode. For duplex mode printing, after printing on one side, the printer pulls the paper back in to print the other side automatically. Think about how much space is inside the printer. Depending on how much data the printer can store, either the first page is printed, then the second page, or the second page is printed first, then the first page. It depends on how the printer wants the page to come out. You can run a simple test and see exactly what happens.

Since the printer cannot easily turn the paper around, it merely starts with the opposite end of the first printed side when it prints on the back. If the top of the page came out first for the first printed side, the printer prints the bottom lines of the second page of text working back to the top in reverse order. As a result, the bottom of the page comes out first, with the top coming out last.

Some duplex printers can store so much data that the determine how the second page will look, print it first, then print the first page. Watch to see what yours does.

Worse comes to worse, mark a sheet of paper in one corner, insert it into the printer, then print a document that contains only the period character and see where it is printed. By knowing how you put the paper in, and where the period was printed, you can tell how to handle any situation. By the way, the period character was chosen because it will be so small that most likely you can use that sheet again.

MP830, how to retrieve faxes in memory to my PC

- A margin appears

2 B Paper feed
Improper paper
feeding:
- Multi-feeding
- Skewed paper
feeding
- Paper jam
- Paper feeding from the
ASF
- Plain paper
- Highest print speed
(Custom setting to 5)
- In the high temperature
and high humidity
environment
- In the low temperature
and low humidity
environment
- With the maximum
amount of paper set (13
mm)
In the high temperature
and high humidity
environment, paper
becomes wavy; in the
low temperature and
low humidity
environment, paper
curls significantly.
When the maximum
amount of paper is set
in the ASF, and if the
paper-return tab fits in a
wave or curl of the
paper, the tab slips and
does not catch paper
properly, causing paper
feed problems.
- Reduce the amount of
paper set in the ASF to
half (approx. 5 mm
high).
- Multiple sheets of
paper feed at the
same time.
- Paper feeds at an
angle.
- A paper jam
occurs.

Skewed paper
feeding (at the
level of +/- 1%)
- Paper feeding from the
ASF
- Credit Card size
Since coaxial tolerance
between the pinch roller
and the LF roller, which
determines the paper
feed alignment, is
0.2mm, skewed paper
feeding can occur.
However, according to
the field data of current
models, the skewness
level caused by the
coaxial tolerance of
0.2mm is within the
criteria of +/- 1%, thus
the phenomenon is left
as is.
- Align the paper guide to

- A margin appears

Soiling on the

- After continuous
borderless printing of
small sized paper (such
as 4 x 6), when a larger
sized paper (such as A4)
is printed.
- With Photo Paper Plus
Double Sided or
postcards, the
phenomenon is likely to
be noticeable and to be
complained of by users,
as printing is performed
on both sides of such
paper.
In borderless printing,
printing is performed to
the size slightly larger
than the paper size, and
ink off the paper is
absorbed by the platen's
ink absorber. Absorbed
ink may attach to the
platen rib(s) after
several dozen sheets are
printed, causing soiling
at the leading edge of
paper or on the back
side of paper.
1. Perform Bottom plate
cleaning (from the
MP driver or via the
operation panel) up to
3 times*1.
2. If soiling on the paper
still remains after 3
times of Bottom plate
cleaning, wipe the
platen rib(s) and their
surroundings with a
cotton swab.
- Paper gets
smeared.
- The back side of
paper gets
smeared.
Soiling on paper in
automatic duplex
printing (lines or
streaks
perpendicular to
the paper feed
direction)
- Automatic duplex
printing (Photo Paper
Plus Double Sided,
postcards, plain paper)
On the rib(s) inside the
sheet feed unit used for
duplex printing, ink
mist may accumulate,
smearing paper.
Temporary operational
solution:
Cancel automatic duplex
printing, and manually
print each side of paper.
Cleaning by user:
1. Perform Bottom plate
cleaning (from the
MP driver or via the
operation panel) up to
3 times*1.
- Paper gets
smeared.
- The back side of
paper gets
smeared.
- Even after Bottom
plate cleaning
was performed,
and the platen
ribs were cleaned
with cotton swab,
paper gets
smeared.

The duplexing option is not working. it will print on the one side, but as it is pulling the sheet back in, it will get stopped up and the rollers will spin until it errors out. it appears to be getting...

Firstly, it may not be the machine. It is possible that your paper is damp and once the machine has printed on one side the texture of the paper changes causing the machine to struggle when feeding it through the duplex unit. Other wise the plate at the back will have rollers above it feeding the paper that may well be dirty causing it to fail when feeding. Check for obstrux=ctions and clean any roller you can find in the duplex unit.

Canon mx850, paper jams when reloading for two sided copies. once the 1st side is printed the paper is released, recaptured and starts to feed back into the prt. 1/3 into the feed it jams, paper is...

Mel, this is what I found in the online manual:

Set the Ink Drying Wait Time longer.
Doing so gives the time enough to dry the printed surface so that paper curling and ink blots are prevented.

(1) Make sure that the machine is turned on.
(2) Open the printer properties dialog box.
See Opening the Printer Properties Dialog Box Directly from the Control Panel.
(3) Click the Maintenance tab and then Custom Settings.
(4) Drag the Ink Drying Wait Time slide bar to set the wait time, and then click Send.
(5) Confirm the message and click OK.

Make sure that the actual size of the paper is suitable for automatic duplex printing.
The sizes of media suitable for automatic duplex printing are A4, Letter, A5, B5, and 5" x 7".
Load paper of suitable size and then press the OK button.
Make sure that the Page Size or Paper size setting matches the actual size of the paper with a size suitable for automatic duplex printing.
First, check the Page Size or Paper size setting in the application software you are printing from.
Then, check the Page Size setting on the Page Setup sheet in the printer properties dialog box (Windows) or the Paper size setting on the Page Setup dialog box (Macintosh).
Note
Depending on the version of the application program, the automatic duplex printing may not be supported.
Make sure that the type of loaded paper is suitable for automatic duplex printing on the Main sheet (Windows) or the Quality & Media sheet on the Print dialog box (Macintosh).
Note
To switch to manual duplex printing, follow the procedure below.

Open the printer properties dialog box, clear the Automatic check box on the Page Setup sheet, and reprint.
When performing manual duplex printing, note the following.
If you are printing three or more pages of a document with manual duplex printing, one side of all sheets of paper will be printed first. Turn over the paper and reload the paper in the machine, and then the reverse side of all sheets of paper will be printed. Be careful not to change the order of paper in the stack.
The procedure for reversing the paper varies depending on the staple side and printing orientation. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Duplexer problem

First, the machine always prints the first page first. Make sure you have the right driver (4 plus and not 4)and check the settings in the device settings of your printer driver on the pc. Also make sure the duplex unit is for the 4 plus and not the 4.
