I do not know how to change my printhead on my HP Officejet Pro L7580

---Make sure the printer is on, or press the Power button to turn it on. Wait for the printer to finish any warm-up diagnostics or print jobs it is performing.

---Open the access cover to the print heads. This cover may be the top cover, the front door or an ink access door on the front of the printer.

---Wait for the cartridge carriage to stop moving, making sure it is completely stationary before putting your hand in the printer. Lift up any clips or latches keeping the print heads or cartridges in place.

---Remove the old print head or ink cartridge if it is part of the cartridge, and discard it. Remove the packaging from the new print head, making sure to peel off any protective tape or twist-off protective caps.
---Insert the new print head or cartridge into the empty slot. Lower any clips or latches and make sure the print head or cartridge does not wiggle in its spot, otherwise you need to pull it out and reinsert it into the printer.

---Close the cover you opened to access the print heads and wait for the printer to calibrate the new print heads. Some printers may produce an alignment page, which you can throw away.

I am looking for a color access door for a print carriage on an hp psc2210 all in one printer. (C8654A)

  1. If you are putting in a new cartridge, make sure to remove the tape.
  2. Turn on the unit, then open the print carriage access door. The print carriage moves to the center of the unit.
  3. Fit the cartridge into the proper carriage.
    • The carriage with the gray latch is for the black ink cartridge (HP 56), or the optional photo cartridge (HP 58).
    • The carriage with the blue latch is for the tri-color cartridge (HP 57).
Slide the cartridge into the carriage at a slight angle, as shown in the illustration above. When the cartridge is fully inserted into the carriage, rock it upright.
  4. Hold the hinged flap of the latch out while lowering the latch.
  5. When the latch is fully lowered, release the hinged flap. It should catch under the tabs on the carriage, as shown in the illustration.
  6. Close the cartridge access door.
  7. The LCD display may indicate that the cartridges need to be aligned. Press Enter on the front panel. You may discard the alignment page that prints.
Remove cartridges
  1. Turn on the unit, then open the print carriage access door. The print carriage moves to the center of the unit.
  2. Press down lightly on the top of each ink cartridge latch and pull the lower section of the latch out to release the cartridge.
  3. Pull the cartridge out of the print carriage and relatch the empty print carriage. The print carriage may move to the right automatically, and if the latch is up, it could be damaged.

This document provides information on how to replace a printhead or ink cartridge.A printhead may need replacing when print quality issues cannot be resolved by cleaning the printheads or a front-panel display message indicates a printhead needs to be replaced. An ink cartridge needs replacing when a front-panel display message indicates either:

Printer stopped printing; amber teardrop is flashing; no paper jam; cartridges should not be empty. Shouldn't there be a notice of low ink before it just stops printing? Or, the printed pages be faint? All...

The top access door on the printer might be open, or there might be something wrong with the print cartridge.
  1. Check to make sure that the top access door is firmly closed.
  2. If the light continues to blink, open the top access door. When the top access door opens, the print carriage moves so the yellow arrow on top of the print carriage points to a drawing of a cartridge inside the cover. Each drawing describes a symptom.

Hp 1410 all in one keeps saying prin cartridge error

Follow the steps given below and check for the results

=== Cleaning the ink Cartridges ===

Even if the cartridge is new, follow the steps below to clean the print cartridge contacts. Print cartridges have a substance on the contacts to keep them from corroding during storage that may cause poor electrical contact between the print carriage and the print cartridge.
  1. Verify that the product is turned on. NOTE: If the HP product is not turned on, you will not be able to remove the print cartridges.
  2. Open the unit to access the print cartridges.
  3. After the print carriage (the part that holds the print cartridges) stops moving, unplug the power cord without turning off the unit using the power button. If you turn the unit off the print cartridges will be capped to prevent them from drying out and you will not be able to remove them. You must unplug the power cord to prevent the print carriage from moving.
  4. Remove both print cartridges.
  5. Verify that the part number on the cartridge is the correct part number for the unit.
  6. Using a cotton swab or lint free cloth (like a coffee filter) lightly moistened with distilled, filtered, or bottled water, clean the electrical contacts of the cartridge. Figure 1: Electrical contacts c00055424.jpg NOTE: When an all-in-one is used frequently for black and white printing but infrequently for color printing (for example, an all-in-one that is used primarily as a fax machine), the color cartridge will still eventually fail and need to be replaced. The pins in the print carriage can cause dents on the contact points of the color cartridge over time (usually between six and twelve months).
  7. Wipe the contacts with a dry, cotton cloth, as shown, to dry the contacts and finish cleaning. Figure 2: Wiping the contacts c00055425.jpg
  8. Reinsert the cartridges and lock them in place.
  9. Close the top cover or access door and plug in the power cord.
  10. If the error continues, repeat these steps. If further cleaning fails to clear the error, proceed to "Step two: Cleaning the print carriage contacts" below.
Step two: Cleaning the print carriage contacts Have the following materials available to clean the print carriage contacts:
  • Cotton swabs or any soft material that will not come apart or leave fibers.
  • Distilled, filtered, or bottled water (tap water may contain contaminants that can damage the print cartridges) CAUTION: Be careful not to get ink on hands or clothing.
Do the follow to clean the cartridge contacts inside the product:
  1. If the unit is off, turn it on.
  2. Open the unit to access the print cartridges.
  3. After the print carriage stops moving, unplug the power cord. Do not turn the unit off before unplugging the power cord.
  4. Remove both print cartridges.
  5. Using a cotton swab or cloth lightly moistened with distilled, filtered, or bottled water, clean the electrical contacts of the print carriage as shown below. Figure 3: Cleaning the carriage contacts (your model may look slightly different) c00130268.jpg
  6. On models equipped with locking latches, lower the latches. Figure 4: Latches in the lowered position (your model may look slightly different) c00055427.jpg
  7. Wait five minutes for the contacts to dry and then plug in the power cord. The unit will begin to reinitialize. Wait until the process is complete before proceeding.
  8. Reinsert the print cartridges when prompted and then close the top cover or access door.
  9. If the message recurs, replace the print cartridge indicated by the message. If you are using refilled or remanufactured cartridges or non-HP cartridges, replace them with new HP cartridges. HP cannot guarantee that refilled or non-HP cartridges will function correctly in HP products. If a new HP ink cartridge is defective, return it to the place of purchase with the receipt, or contact HP to obtain a replacement.
  10. If the problem still exists, replace both print cartridges. Since the cartridges are electronically connected through the printed circuit board, the cartridge not indicated in the message might be the causing the failure
If the issue still persists then try the following steps to identify the problem ink cartridge
1. Remove both the ink cartridges
2. Insert the Color ink cartridge first and close the ink access door
3. Check if you are getting any error message or the ink cartridge light is blinking
4. Now remove the color ink cartridge and then insert the black ink cartridge and close the ink access door
5. Check if you are getting any error message or the ink cartridge light is blinking
Replace the problem ink cartridge anc then check
