Why slaves didnt had freedom

Because some people think they are superior to others.
That is why the Declaration of Independence is so important.
It declares that all humans are equal and they deserve liberty.
After the revolutionary war, the slave owners would not join the union if they had to give up slavery. The issue was delayed for years.
Eventually a civil was under way because of slavery and other issues.
Abraham Lincoln and the Republican party used this opportunity to end slavery.
America had slaves but it did not start slavery! America ended it!

How people died when they are trying to stop slavery

The number of casualties in the US Civil war is greater than the number of casualties in all other US wars combined. If you believe that the purpose of the Civil war was to rid the country of slavery then you would have to include all the Union soldiers. That would 596,270 who were "wounded, captured or missing." Of that number, 350,000 were deaths, 110,000 direct battle deaths, and 250,000 deaths due to either complications from wounds, or other illnesses contracted in the course of duty. How you decide to count the deaths depends therefore, on how you view those deaths which were not caused directly in battle.

Of course, in addition there were the deaths of many southerners, some of whom, while opposing slavery itself, fought for state in the belief that that state had the right to determine it's own course. A large group, and perhaps even a majority of Southerners were in this camp as, as far as we can tell, though it is difficult to come by reliable measures for the period.

In addition, of course, there were small, but significant conflicts long before the civil war, as in the "Bleeding Kansas" and the John Brown uprising at Harper's Ferry.

And finally, you have to ask yourself how many slaves over the 300+ years of slavery died trying to escape or otherwise from the abuse of slavery. Some of these, Nat Turner, for one, led unsuccessful rebellions.

Hope this helps you get perspective on the question.

Did slavery exist in canada

Yes, slavery was legal and existed in Canada (in the "traditional" sense) until it was abolished in 1833. [Source: wikipedia article on "Slavery in Canada"]
However, slavery still exists in Canada, the USA, and all over the world, even though it is not institutionally recognized and is officially illegal in all countries. There are an estimated 20 million to 30 million slaves worldwide. Many are women and children forced into human trafficking. [Source: wikipedia article on "Slavery"]

When was saint matthew born

Saint Patrick (385-461 A.D.) was taken into slavery as a teenager. During that time his comfort came from above as he often prayed a hundred times a day for God's presence. Several years later a voice called out to him, felicitari de sfantul andrei "Ship is ready." Escaping from his slave master in Ireland, Patrick would travel seventy miles to the coast to find a ship waiting for him at the dock. Finally free, he sailed back to his home in Britain.
