1. From Home, tap the Menu icon, and then tap Settings.
2. Tap My account.
3. Choose the Amazon account you want to use on your Kindle: If you already have an Amazon account: Tap this option. Enter your Amazon account information. Tap Register. Your name will appear as the Registered User when registration is complete.

You can go to the Amazon website either on your computer, phone, or other tablet and create a user that way. Then just sign in with your username and password. The sign in stuff is usually in the top right hand corner of a computer screen when you're at the top of the page. On mobile devices like tablets and iPads it is up there as well in the web browser. I think you can register the kindle as well when it is turned on. I just did mine after it was hooked up to the computer and synced for a bit.
