One screw on back of handle will allow handle to slide off with some force. Two screws on front above bag door will allow small cover to come off allowing access to where cord connects inside vacuum.
Remove the bag door cover, remove the screws holding the cover over the switch and wires coming into the body of the vacuum. Remove two screws holding the cord in place, unhook the old cord and install the new one the same way the old on was
Remove the dust compartment door to gain access to the cover over the wiring and switch compartment. Remove three screws to gain access to be able to remove the old power cord and slide it through the hole in the back of the vacuum. Put new cord through the hole and wire back up as it was before.
The red guard goes on top of the foam after it is installed. The purpose of the red guard is to keep the bag from sucking down against the filter when you get a few inches of dirt in the bottom of the bag. If it sucks down against the filter the dirt in the bag will cause an airlfow restriction even though the bag is not full.
Reset switch is located on the back of the vacuum and close to the back wheels.Press a reset switch a few times and vacuum should start. Check also cord plug . Many times metal prongs are broken at the end of the cord (usually one of them)
If this problem happened after you replaced the filters, check that the filters have been installed correctly because some filters have sensor magnets installed on them and unless they are in their correct position, the machine wont power on.
