Hi i have an hitachi nt65gs it has a 3.6v charger when i put the battery in to charge the charger switches off can anyone help. no problem with the batteries i have charged them with friends charger.

This happened to me also. In the manual it says the flashing light means that the battery/charger needs to be cleaned, or if that doesn't work, it is dead. My husband called customer service and they actually sent us a new battery which we recieved within a few days. The number is 1 800 706 2534.

Decase by removing the eight screws on the back. Check the charging fuse isnt blown. You will find it on the underside of the square circuit board that mounts on the back of the charger port.

Worx has had issues with their chargers and their batteries. They don't seem to last as long as the machine does. A simple voltmeter test of the charger and any battery will tell the story. The charger's output rating should be printed on it and the battery also. Touch test leads from voltmeter to the two and check.

SOURCE: ryobi lithium batteries won't take charge

For others with the same problem (flashing red light won't go off)...make sure you FIRMLY PUSH the battery down onto the charger and engage the latches. Simply resting the battery on the charger will not work.
