I have a singer Fashion mate 7256 and when I turn the machine on E 4 comes on the screen. I have looked in my book buy can't find any information on this code! Can you help m

E4 is a bobbin shaft error I believe. In order to clear the message, you need to clean the bobbin case and turn the machine on and off.

Also check the bobbin winder shaft. If it is pushed over when you try to run the machine you may get the error.

Control Panel shows the following error message: ][ How can I re-set it?

] [ = usually means that your bobbin winder is on. Move the bobbin winder post/shaft from the right position over to the left to switch the mode back to sewing, then try making your stitch selection again.
