The power went out @ 8 am this morning, returned by noon (I was out) my 4-yr-old Dacor microwave's control panel is now a blank white and the light does not come on when I open the door. The Dacor wall oven below it is working fine. I called Dacor and was told that the control panel was probably damaged due to a power surge, but to first turn off the fuse for 30 sec or so, turn it back on and maybe that will correct it. It didn't. Is the control panel damaged? How easy/difficult is it to replace the control panel? Is it necessary to have a surge protector installed at this outlet - new construction and the oven is built into the cabinetry? Thanx!!
It is the CPU/display assembly that has a problem.
