I have a 55 inch JVC tv,today the screen went black but still have sound, also the buttons on the back wont work, but the channel down button turns it on and off? What is wrong with it?

I have a 55 inch JVC tv, my kids were watching cartoons today and the screen went black but till have sound, also the buttons on the back won't work, but the channel down button turns it on and off? What is wrong with it? It worked fine before this.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary..

Usually it is the power board. Try finding a replacement power board it should fix the problem.

I fixed my 55" Samsung with the exact same symptom.

Our 55 inch flat screen Sanyo when powered on it started going through the channel settings by itself. Is there anyway to fix this or did it quit working completely?

Sounds like the main board is failing and will need to be replaced.

How do I fix my Jvc the screen won't power on. When I reset it the lights on the buttons light up...but shut off right away. It has power because the red light on the bottom left corner stays lit.

you should have a button on your remote for sound system may be 'BG' or 'SYS' or any other press it to change sound system to "BG". sound will be ok.

Frozen on a menu screen

Just fixed ours with the same problem. You need to hit the volume buttons on the remote during the time the screen goes black but BEFORE it gives you the "Connect cables" message.It should trick the TV into giving you a blank channel.

Sanyo TVs are made notoriously cheap, and have little glitches like this. Best of luck, space cowboy.
