How can I remove Echo 230 SRM trimmer head?

I have a Echo 230 SRM and I want to replace the exisiting trimmer head and replace it with a U-Turn trimmer head. The problem is that I can't get off the current trimmer head. If there is anyone that can be of assistance I would appreciate it.

On the head there is a u shape slot on the side. turn it until you can slide a small screw driver in it to lock the head. then loosen the nut on the bottom i do believe it is a left-handed

Remove the top off the string housing and remove the nut in the center.

Replace the top, as if you have finished loading string, Lock it in place as you normally do and the turn the entire housing pulling up at the same time. Spring and the white mechanism will pop out and then all you have to do is lift the string housing base off the trimmer head. Note it will take you a few tries but once it comes off you will see how easy it is to remove. I was amazed. Got my info from a sales person at Home Depot.

Echo SRM-230 trimmer stalls when you give it more gas. Can get more RPM with choke, but still not enough to use. Trimmer only has 20 hours on it.

empty the fuel tank and refill with the correct oil/ fuel mixture as too much oil blocks the jets Machines do not like any e- mix fuels as the jets are not set for the mix.

Echo weedeater srm 230 oi l for houseing what

See section 24 of your manual here. It has the information you want for lubing the flexible drive shaft and the gear-drive housing (if your unit is so equipped). This is a manual for the SRM230S model.

Need Help Installing U-Turn Trimmer Head on Echo SRM-210

It is ridiculous, there are a bunch of bolts, and then a multi-fit brochure showing a grid of nonsense.
There are instructions on the inside of the package, however that is how to string the line.

How to remove trimmer head from Echo 230 SRM?

I know I'm replying to a old post, but this might help others. My Echo GT225 might be similiar. Once u are down to the thread bolt & the round shaft part that spins in ither direction, u need to thread back on the line spool, at lest the botton part of it to hold the thread bolt in place. Then start turn that rounded part that normally just spins, it will start to thread off, as you are thrreading it off you may have to also start threading the line spool part off as well at the same time. After that you will need the tool that takes off the C ring clamp thing that's underneath. I couldn't find any info on this online, I just kept on playing with it until I figured it out, UGH.
