My nokia 6300 phones back light is not working correctly. The keypad light comes on and later the screen light which goes off when you press the key pad. please advice

does your phone accidentally fell on a hard surface? if that is so, then, the board itself is loose thats why you have problems with the backlights. go to your nokia center and have it fixed. its just a minor repair.

My daughters Nikon D40 accidentally fell on the floor and now the flash has quit working. It still takes pictures fine it just won't flash. Is this something that will have to be repaired by a camera shop...

Hello,

Unless you are a camera guru my strongest advice is to have a professional take it apart to look at it. You could have very well have only broken the flash bulb or caused a connection to lose its seat on the circuit.

Shake the camera gently and listen to the flash for the "jingle" of broken glass. If you hear nothing, and are comfortable with taking the camera apart, unscrew the flash housing and check to see that the wires are all still well connected.

Cheers!

Manual light & exposure settings

if you are using flash lights on the art work, please follow the following steps
  1. turn off your flash in cam since it bypasses the external flash and makes the picture look different.
  2. turn your light settings to either automatic or "flash light or arc light".but do not set them to incandescent light!!!
  3. turn your macro to on status if you are going to take a close up shots, but please note that close up shots work great in natural sunlight than at flash lights...

Turning the flash off

Set the mode dial to Camera (normal) then by pressing the Up button on the control pad, you may switch between the different flash settings. The settings are:
  • Forced flash (lightning bolt)
  • Slow synchro (bolt plus SL) - this is forces the flash to strobe out of sync so a dark background can be lit up.
  • No flash (no bolt)
