That sounds like the multiport. You need to make sure all the gaskets inside are in good shape and that all the screws holding the multiport together are tight. First start by taking the lid and handle off of the multiport, there is a lid gasket that may be in bad shape. If the gasket leaves black on your fingers, then that says the gasket is bad. Replace it and tighten the lid back down with the screws and bolts.

It looks that my filter has some air in it, how can I take it out?

In a properly plumbed pump/filter system, while the pump is running air can be introduced only through the suction side of the hydraulic system. (Water can cavitate within the pump, but this is not air, rather water vapor in bubbles. Once the pressure is reduced downstream of the pump turbine, cavitation will cease and the bubbles will return to liquid water. Nevertheless, pump cavitation is a serious problem that also needs to be avoided.) In other words, air gets in upstream of the pump. Downstream the water pressure would be to great to allow ambient air to enter the system -- rather water would leak out.

On the upstream side of the pump there are several places to look for air suction:

1. Most common, water level too low in pool, and air enters through skimmers. Most pool owners discover this on their own and correct the problem.
2. Less common, suction-side fitting or seal is not properly sealed. This could be at the pump basket housing seal, the pump drain seals, an upsteam valve, etc. If you have antifreeze ports, look closely at these fittings. Be sure to replace seals often. Teflon tape should be replaced every season. In many cases the only way to find a bad suction seal is by seeing air in the pump basket. In a properly sealed system you should not see any air in the pump basket after just a few minutes of starting the pump. If you see a pocket of air continue in the basket after a few minutes, you likely have an air source upstream of the pump. The effects of a leaking seal will be amplified if the skimmer line is blocked with debris either at the skimmer or in the lines. The pump continues to work hard to suck water into the system. If it can't get water, a leaking seal will be the source of vacuum release via the entrance of air through the bad seal.
3. Less common yet, a broken skimmer line from the skimmers to the pump, potentially underground. Obviously, this is in the most costly to repair.

Here's an example of what one might find. A pool owner has forgotten to replace the Teflon tape on his antifreeze ports for many years. Since these ports are opened and closed both at the beginning and end of each season, the tape has worn out and is no longer sealing the ports. He sees a large bubble of air collecting in the pump basket, and a stream of air bubbles in the return water stream going back into the pool. His fix? Remove the antifreeze port plugs, remove the old Teflon tape, replace with new Teflon tape, then replace the plugs.

Our fisher and paykel dishdrawer won't wash. It comes up with F1 and flashing light on control panel.

the dynamo dishwashing stuff has caused foaming which reached the base of the dishdrawer unit causing the flood switch to trip. This gives F1 error.
Not sure how much foaming has occured.

Best to turn off power and take power cable out from socket. then empty the drawer using towels. pull out the bottom drawer and wait a day or so to let the foam disappear from the bottom of dishwasher (under the bottom drawer). Connect the power and see if F1 had gone. If not, you need more work. Post a comment based on the above suggestion and I will guide you further if required. Always use Finish dishwasher power only (recommended quantity) as the drawers are small and don't need much detergent.

I'm hearing air like sounds around the multiport valve. There's bubbles visible in the filter going to the pump. Bled the air on the filter itself and bubbles continues. Could the multi port...

Air only gets into the lines of your equipment if it enters somewhere on the suction side of the system. That means from the pump housing and strainer BACK to the pool on the inlets. Once the water passes from the impeller out the discharge of the pump it is under pressure and any leaks will result in water escaping from the line.

While your filter may or may not need work air is likely the result of failing gaskets or a seal in the pump. Replace the strainer lid ring, the pump body ring and the mechanical seal first. If there is still air look at the valve or valves in front of the pump for controlling inlet water flow...check for leaking stems or failing pipe joints.

Water Filter leaking after changing filter

There's probably some particles that got trapped in the filter purge valve ( the red button) preventing it from closing all the way.

You may be able to clean the valve while the filter top is still in place. Try using a small brush. A toothbrush may work if you cut off the handle. Hold the button down while you clean the inside of the valve. Then take a
spray bottle and put the sprayer tip on stream. Flush the valve from the inside.
If that did not do it, next step is to remove the top from the water lines, and flush the valve out.

Water leaking from backwash when filter is on

The issue is not the filter, but the valve on the filter. There is usually a gasket that seals the different positions of the valve so water does not leak out. This gasket is probably the issue with your filter.

If you have a two piece valve, has screws holding down the handle section to the bottom of valve, then you may have an easier time fixing this issue. You will need to stop your system, release all the pressure from the filter using the Air Release Valve, or take the lid off the pump if you do not have the release valve, wait for about 30 minutes to ensure pressure is released. Then remove the screws around the valve, taking the handle section off in one piece. Check the bottom of the handle piece, see if there is a "spider gasket" or O-Ring that has gone bad.

While in filter mode handle goes down by itself and discharge out waste valve. Hayward sand filter.

That sounds like it is a problem with the Valve on the filter. There is usually a "spider gasket", or O-Ring, in the valve that will keep the different positions sealed. If you are in the Filter position and water is coming out the Waste, you need to check the valve for a bad seal, or a broken part within the valve.

You will need to stop your system, release all the pressure in the filter, then remove the top part of the valve, if it is a two piece valve. I usually do not recommend taking the handle apart unless you can not find the problem, the spring in the handle makes it a bit difficult to put back together.
