If you have been using the self clean feature, you have probably burned out or damaged the connections to the fan and the convection fan element or thermistor. NEVER EVER use the self clean feature.
Hello Dana, thank you for your post!
From my understanding your Frigidaire oven is displaying an error code of "F8" and your keypad is not working properly. An "F8" error stands for runaway temperature (overheating). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting the power cord for at least ten minutes.
If that does not help correct your issue then you could have a problem with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would suggest having a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt
If tripping and turning the circuit breaker off for about 10 minutes does not work, contact Frigidaire. Sounds like the control board and/or door switch will need replacing.
Have you turned off the house breaker to the unit to "reset" it? Leave it off for 2 min, turn it back on and see what happens. You'll need to reset the clock to use the oven, but hopefully it will allow you to open the door. Let us know if it works and we'll dig deeper.
Whithout knowing the model number in general it takes several hours for the cleaning cycle. My oven takes approx. 4 hours to complete a good cleaning. On my own oven, you can set the timer for as long as you want. Do you have an owners manual? If not, you can find one here........... http://www.frigidaire.com/support/manuals.asp
