Hi Guys.

Just for more info, fitted a SA-320 GPS to my S3 Raymarine setup with an E80 display. The SA-320 comes with 5 wires : White, Red, Black, Black(SHEILD) and Green.

To connect this GPS to the NMEA on the S3, Red and black go to any 12v pos/neg, you can jump it off any of the power points, then connect Green the NMEA +in and Black (SHEILD) to the NMEA -in. The white is not required so just leave it secured.

Works like a dream, however obviously the GPS setup on your Raymarine suite will not control / show any info.

Raymarine 4000 + autopilot. I immediately get an RG Fail message when I engage the autopilot on my Catalina 320 Sailboat.

I am not familiar with your particular model autopilot, but I do know that Raymarine autopilots can be fussy. All must have a compatible gps feeding it, of course. All must have a rudder angle indicator if your auto pilot connects to the wheel or rudder instead of directly to the tiller.

What is the connection path from Garmin 72 to raymarine c80, using NMEA 1083

I'm taking this as you want to send the gps information to your C80 not receive from the C80? If this is the case the brown wire on the garmin is the nmea data out +. The Black wire is considered nmea out neg (-) of the garmin. So hook the garmin brown to the white on the raymarine. Hook the black from the garmin to the green on the raymarine. That means you are outputting lat/long info to the raymarine from the garmin.

Just interested on ''how'' the Autohelm ST1000 Plus works! is there somewhere on the net that I can check, I just bought a boat with one one it and I know how to make it work, but I want to...

Hi!
The ST1000+ does not have an internal GPS. What it does have is an electronic compass underneath the keypad. When you order the Tillerpilot to steer to a bearing, the unit uses the electronic compass to steer using a series of corrections.

Just in case you've misplaced your Owners Manual, you can use this link to download it to your computer: http://www.raymarine.com/productdocumentfinder.aspx

Click on your language preference, then Autopilots from the drop-down menu, tillerpilots and finally ST 1000+. The pdf file for your unit is 81130_6.pdf

Hope this helps and happy boating!

I bought a RayNav 300 GPS on ebay and it came without a power cord. Can you help me locate one?

You are looking for part number e32024 (fits raynav 300 and raychart 320). What kind of jack does the power cable plug into? You may be able to have one made. A good marine electronics shop should be able to help you out.

Connect Ratheon RL 70 to Raymarine E80

The two devices can share Nav data only. No radar, Sonar or Chart will be shared.
Hook the RL70 and the E80 together on SeaTalk and all data will be shared both ways. Alternatively, it could be done with NMEA 0183, which is directional, or you could also translate the RL70 data to NMEA 2000 and share it that way. As long as you have all Raymarine equipment, you are home free using a three wire Seatalk connection, with only two hooked up, Yellow and Bare, color to color.
Remember, this will share Nav Data only.
