My Protex wall safe opened, but now won't close.

When you disconnect the battery, you have to key in a new combination or the old combination again. It loses its memory with the battery disconnect.

My safe, a Cathedral EA15 Will not lock. Any suggestions people?

Instructions
  1. 1

Enter your code on the keypad located on the front of the safe. Some electronic digital safes require you to input a special character like "#" before and after your code. The safe should either beep, have a LED turn green, or display "OPEN" if you have correctly entered the code.

  2. 2

Turn the handle to the right within five seconds of correctly entering the code. If you wait too long, the safe will lock and you will have to enter your code ag

3

Open the safe with a key. Use your emergency key that came with the safe to open it if you forgot the code or if the batteries have died. Remove the key cover from either the handle or the control panel to reveal the lock.

  1. 1

Enter your code to open the safe.

  2. 2

Place the electronic digital safe into code reset mode. On some models you need to hold the last digit of the code or press the "*" button to get into code reset mode. Other safes require you to open them and press a small red button on the inside of the door.

  3. 3

Enter your new code on the keypad and press "#" to finish. Some safes may require you to press "*" or a letter to finish the code. If the safe requires it, enter the new code again to confirm that you entered it correctly.

  1. 1

Use your code to open the electronic digital safe's door.

  2. 2

Locate and remove the battery cover on the inside of the door.

  3. 3

Replace the used batteries with new ones. For most safes, this will require two or four AA batteries.

  4. 4

Test the batteries. Use your code while the door is open to test the batteries before closing the safe.

New battery on 1610 safe but no green lights and will not open

Battery does not have enough current to actuate the mechanism. I have 2 Sentry 1610's with the same problem. I solved it by removing the battery & using a variable DC Power Supply set to 9 volts, and adjusting the current up until I got a response to my combination on the keypad. This is the only way I can get into or close my safes now.

Sentry Safe (DSW3607 Model) Won't Open

I finally ignored the poorly-written instructions for programming a personal code and simply entered the factory code first and then pressed the prog/enter code button.  The safe opened.  The instructions tell you to push the prog/enter code first and then enter the factory code or personal code to open the safe.  Wrong!  Do it my way should this problem happen to you.

Lost instructions for sandleford E.S.20 safe

The operating instructions on the ES20 as per the crappy manual:

Open safe using emergency key provided

Insert batteries in the box inside the door

Opening the safe
a. pre-set factory code 159
b. input 159 (the yellow light will flash and the buzzer will beep), then press B or A button, the green light will be on, rotate the knob clockwise, pull outwards, the door is opened

Closing the safe: close the door, input the code (the green light will flash for 5 secs). Turn the knob anti clockwise, the control system will activate and the safe will be locked

Changing the code: open the safe, press the red button located inside the door, the yellow light will go on indicating the code can be changed. Input the new code (1-8 digits), then press A or B button, it shall be confirmed by two beeps indicating the new code has been accepted and stored. If the yellow light and buzzer beeps 3 times the code is invalid - try again

Emergency Key - store in secure place NOT inside the safe. Remove the override cover in the centre of the face of Safe (its a silver plastic panel with Sandleford Electronic Safe ES20 on it), insert override key (a cyclinder key) - hidden underneath the override cover panel - and turn anti clockwise, rotate the knob clockwise to open door

Changing the Battery - If the red and green light are on this indicates that the batteries are low and require changing. To ensure the batteries have been installed correctly test before closing the door
